WIW for a Saturday of running around

Got a bunch of errands to run today so casual and comfy is the way to go. I'm so crazy about my red Sam Edelman booties that the outfit started with those. These are 10 hours boots for me.

From there, I added my favourite faded, flared and distressed jeans, a red/white/blue striped tee, red leather belt and my dark blue faux leather jacket. Still using my red day clutch from yesterday. Is this too much red, white and blue?

Anyway...what do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Revolution
Tee: Gap (thrifted)
Jeans: American Eagle (thrifted)
Boots: Sam Edelman
Clutch: Danier Leather

Update: after I saw the pic, I ended up taking off the belt and untucking the tee. I felt like the belt was just a bit too much red.

WIW: Stripes & red booties

Yay for Denim Day (casual Friday at work)! I'm going in a little bit later today as the office owes me some time back. How nice to sleep an hour later and leisurely sip my coffee.

Today is the debut of the Sam Edelman red booties which I'm quite smitten with. I've paired them with my dark denim skinnies and a Gap loose knit sweater I bought in late spring. We all agreed that this sweater read more autumn than spring so have been waiting to pull it out. For a topper outdoors, I've tossed on my faux fur vest. Angie, you were sooooo right that I would love this vest! And then to add just a wee bit more red (can you ever have too much red?) and as my nod to the daytime clutch, I'm wearing my red Danier Leather clutch. It's on the smaller side but it holds everything I need.

So what do you think? Colours and proportions all play well together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Vest: Jeanne Bekker
Sweater: Gap
Skinnies: Wit & Wisdom
Boots: Sam Edelman
Clutch: Danier Leather

WIW: Maggy London meets an animal as per Angie

Last time I wore my black/white Maggy London dress, Angie suggested that animal print footwear would work well with it. Because I like to be a good student, I popped on my animal print Doc Danielle's with the dress this time. I really like the unexpected shoe choice and pre-YLF I never would have worn this - I would have gone with the safe and predictable black pump.

To further play up the brown/rust tones in the shoes, I've added my Fossil re-issue vintage handbag.

And because it's now coat weather, I thought I'd add a shot of my outerwear each day (if I remember!). Today's coat is a boucle knit vintage jacket (no label unfortunately).

So what do you think? Colours and proportions work to your eye? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Dress: Maggy London
Shoes: Doc Martens Danielle
Handbag: Fossil
Jacket: vintage
Microfishnets: Hue

WIW: Taupe & Pink

Good morning my lovelies!

Today's outfit started with my taupe skirt (waving hi to skirt twin Suz!). I added my taupe/cream/pink silk blend tee and then for even more colour, topped it with my magenta blazer. For footwear, I'm wearing my taupe/olive booties and grabbed my snakeskin handbag which has both cream and taupe tones in it.

I hope a pink blazer isn't too summery looking? For some reason, I consider pink more of a warm season colour.

What do you think? Colours and proportions work ok? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Slouchy & Stripes

Today is the debut of the Lord & Taylor black trousers that Wonder Woman altered to become slouchy trousers. I'm thrilled with the results! These trousers are slouchy in that the waist band actually sits on my hips thereby giving me a slight dropped crotch - then Wonder Woman lowered the hem on the legs and tapered them give them ample ankle scrunch.

I've paired the trousers with an asymmetrical front ruched tank tucked into the trousers and then belted with a simple black leather belt. For footwear, I'm wearing my Doc Marcie boots, which continues my column of black. On top, I've added my black & white striped blazer and for colour, my red quilted handbag and new burgundy red lipstick. For jewelry, I'm wearing my chrome bracelet watch.

What do you think? Proportions and styling work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Ambition (Winner's)
Tank: Attitude by Jay Manuel
Trousers: Lord & Taylor
Belt: Danier Leather
Footwear: Doc Martens Marcie's
Handbag: Nine West (thrifted)
Watch: thrifted

WIW: Halogen Tipped Sweater Blazer

Happy Friday everyone!

We have about an inch of snow on the ground this morning - a perfect day for a cozy sweater. I'm wearing my two-tone purple Halogen tipped sweater blazer (NAS) over a darker purple tank. I've paired this with my Reitman's dark wash jean. For footwear, I decided on my three-tone patent oxfords and am wearing my snakeskin handbag to bookend the tones in the shoes.

Does this work? How are the oxfords with this? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Halogen
Tank: Gap
Jeans: Reitman's
Oxfords: Jeffrey Campbell
Handbag: Elliot Lucca

WIW: Shades of Brown

The weather has turned - it is cold, windy, rainy and there's a forecast for snow. I guess autumn is definitely here now.

I started today's outfit with my favourite Esprit espresso brown trousers. I paired those with my new BR pussy bow blouse. I've belted that with a newly thrifted brown leather belt with brass circles on it. For footwear, I'm wearing my brown leather booties and for when I step out the door, I've topped it with my cognac faux leather jacket. My handbag is my Fossil re-issue vintage bag.

I love the various shades of brown, cream and cognac together but I had to laugh this morning. My husband hates the colour brown (childhood memories) and just gave me "the look" this morning when he saw what I was wearing. Sweetheart that he is though, he didn't say a word.

BTW - this blouse photographs sort of shiny and almost see through but it is neither - it's just the flash messing with you. And if this is how well the BR petite blouses fit me, I expect to be buying more!

So what do you think? Everything work together here? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blouse: Banana Republic
Trousers: Esprit
Belt: thrifted
Booties: Naturalizer
Handbag: Fossil
Jacket: Revolution

WIW: Golden Snakeskin (and toe update)

I pounced on this golden coloured snakeskin print Vince Camuto blouse when it went on sale at Nordstrom...and I'm so glad I did! It came yesterday and I busted it out today to wear. I love the colour, the scale of the print and the gold buttons. I've paired this breezy blouse with my newly thrifted skinny black trousers. For footwear, I'm wearing my Fly London sandals and I'm using my black patent faux croc Danier Leather handbag. For outside, I'm topping it all with my fur vest.

I will not lie - I feel fantastic in this outfit! And yes Angie, I know I have to get the sleeves shortened but I couldn't wait to wear it - please don't scold me!

How does it look to your eye? Colours and proportions ok? as always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blouse: Vince Camuto
Trousers: Calvin Klein (thrifted)
Vest: Jeanne Bekker
Handbag: Danier Leather (thrifted)
Sandals: Fly London

Toe update: saw the doctor yesterday and it is indeed quite badly infected. She aspirated as much of the infected fluid out of the toe as she could, gave poor Miss Toe an injection of antibiotics and then put me on penicillin for two weeks. I'm also to soak it twice per day in warm salt water. If the infection does not clear up within a month, she's referring me to a surgeon to have the nail and nail bed removed.

WIW: Amber Sun Jacket

Today is the first wearing of my purple Amber Sun jacket (NAS purchase). Oh my...I love this jacket. I love the rich colour, the unusual shape, the pockets and in my opinion, the slight nod to retro with the double breasted style and wide lapels.

I've paired the jacket with my graphic tiered black/white dress. Now I'm not completely sure the jacket works with the boat neck of this dress but I'm going for it anyway!

For footwear, I've added my cream/black Doc Sara oxfords - I know they're not everyone's favourite with a dress but I love the look.

For accessories, I have my black/white leather handbag, my silver Gucci watch and my vintage 1960's brooch.

I'm happy with how this turned out - what do you think? Proportions and shapes all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Amber Sun
Dress: Cleo Petites

WIW: Burgundy, Grey & Texture

I decided to wear an old favourite today - my Gap boucle knit dress. I think the CPW must be down to about 15 cents by now!

I paired the dress with a wide suede burgundy belt with brass studs on it and bookended the burgundy colour with my burgundy suede Mary-Jane pumps. I then added further texture by using my grey snakeskin clutch and a metallic cuff with faux diamond studs embedded.

I topped it all with a silver trench with wide lapels and clear buttons. I thrifted this about a month ago and absolutely love the colour. I should have done it up to show you how well it fits - I'll do that another time, I promise.

What do you think? Do the colours and proportions work well in this outfit? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Dress: Gap
Belt: Danier Leather (thrifted)
Shoes: Clarks
Trench: Ricki's (thrifted)
Cuff: thrifted
Clutch: Sondra Roberts (thrifted)
