WIW: Dancing Watermelon

I have to say that for a $20 tee, this Victoria-era ballerina tee has held up incredibly well.

I've paired my dancing tee with my black/white striped tube skirt and then to further play up black and white patterns (and for comfort) added my black/white polka dot Birks for footwear. If the office is unbearably cold, I'll pop on top my faded denim/leather mixed media jacket. For accessories I went with my watermelon handbag, red specs and silver watch, wedding ring and bracelet.

Sooooooo glad it's Friday :)

So what do you think of this outfit? Does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: B&W Repeat

It's funny how I used to hate being seen in exact repeat outfits and now, if I really love the outfit, it doesn't bother me at all. In fact, it makes me happy because it means (as Angie would say) that I'm wearing the heck out of my clothes. And isn't that why I bought these items?

Today's outfit consists of my black cropped slim leg EF pants (will definitely need to purchase the winter version of these), white tank, and black-white ombre silk long voluminous blouse. To say I love this blouse is a total understatement. On top of that for the freezing office A/C is my trusty black blazer from my skirt suit. My skirt suit was also a fabulous purchase in the last year - so incredibly versatile.

I finished off the outfit with my black/white ankle strap pumps, white leather clutch, black/white specs and a grey/silver bangle.

And because I've shown you my bold red and bold pink lips, I thought I'd show you my version of a soft lip - a raspberry shade gloss.

As always, all comments/suggestions welcome - thanks for looking :)

WIW: Coming full circle

Dresses with a topper was my signature style about two years ago. Then I started experimenting more with skirts and pants, embracing the slouchy and bootcut trends, and semi tucking fluid knitwear. I realized in finding my EF dresses, that I have come back full circle to wearing dresses with a topper and LOVING IT! Isn't it funny how that works?

Today's outfit started with my blue EF drape front dress. I chose my white denim topper as I adore high contrast outfits. For footwear, I went with my comfy cream laser cut oxfords and then I finished off the outfit with my cobalt/cream quilted handbag, gold watch and wedding band, red specs and red lip.

Easy peasy lemon squeasy!

All comments/suggestions welcome and thanks for looking :)

WIW: A favorite repeat

I absolutely love this blush patterned blouse and my favorite pairing with it is my white slim BF's (as to your blog post this morning Angie!).

It's quite a simple outfit really - blush voluminous blouse, white BF jeans, bone/silver sandal shoes and white clutch. Black and white specs and silver bracelet and ring finish off the outfit.

Sorry the pic is a bit dark. Trying to figure out my camera app in outdoor lighting.

Have a fab day everyone :)

WIW: More Summer Black & A Bold Pink Lip

We can wear jeans to work on Fridays but only if they are darker wash and no rips/distressing, etc. In my cleaning and purging over the last week, I found my Wit & Wisdom skinny jeans and thought these might work rolled with kitten heels for work.

So today's outfit started with the W&W dark wash skinny jeans. I rolled twice to a cropped ankle length. I like how the underside of the jeans is light so the cuff is quite obvious.

I then added my black leather belt and semi-tucked my black lace drapey tee. This tee and its sister cream version have been major wardrobe workhorses for me this summer and are holding up incredibly well despite their low price point.

I chose my black pointy toe kitten heels for footwear - the one pair of black heels I kept in the purge as they are quite comfortable. I kept the black theme with my large black w/gold hardware handbag and chose my rose gold/black watch and black/white specs for accessories.

To finish off the outfit I went with bright pink lipstick, as opposed to my usual bold red. Sorry 'bout the scary face close up - lol!

So what do you think? Does this work for a Casual Friday? Do the jeans look ok rolled? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Possible Doc Marcie replacement?

I'm having to pass on my Doc Marcie boots which I have loved and worn for a few years now. They were the perfect mid calf slightly edgy/tough boot for me to wear with skirts and dresses. I adore how they can take a simple black sheath dress and change the whole vibe. But I can no longer do that heel height :(

I will be looking for a replacement pair of boots with the same type of feel to it - mid calf, a bit tough, can be worn with skirts/dresses or tucked in skinnies. I have my lovely black patent Ara booties for dressier.

I came across these Ugg boots that have possibilities I think - lace up front like the Marcies, low heel, mid calf. And I know that Ugg's are very comfortable. These aren't inexpensive for sure but I don't mind spending on good quality, comfortable footwear now that I have fussy feet.

I've decided not to pursue anything too chunky like the Fly London shoes/boots I had shown a week or two ago, nor the Frye boots as they are not quite as comfy for my feet.

What do you think of these Ugg boots?

WIW: Summer Black & A Bold Red Lip

Grrrr…sorry for the blurry pics - not sure what happened there.

Anyway, today's outfit started with my black EF drape front dress. This is, for my body type and style, THE PERFECT DRESS! And because I am not seasonally biased about wearing the colour black (I know some who don't like to wear it in summer) I decided to go all black in my outfit today. I popped on my black EF open front cardigan over top the dress (I realize it's difficult to see black layers in a picture) - love how they layer so perfectly.

For footwear, I went with my black and white polka dot Birks and chose my black with gold hardware leather handbag. Then for a pop of colour, I chose my red specs and a bold red lip (waving at you Mo!). To finish off the outfit, I went with my gold watch and wedding band.

This is the kind of ease and simplicity I've been craving lately and this outfit is the perfect example of where I want to be and continue to go in my style journey.

What do you think? Does all black in summer speak to you or do you consider it more of a fall/winter colour? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Seeing the light

Yesterday's outfit was dark and today's outfit is the complete opposite - light and white!

I started today's outfit with these rolled white slim leg BF jeans and then added my drapey white/blue/blush tank. I've been wearing this tank a lot and guess I would consider it one of my summer wild cards. I wear it on the weekends with faded BF's and my white BF shorts.

On top of the tank, I added my white blazer with scrunched sleeves and then chose my bone/silver sandal shoes for footwear. I originally had my white clutch with this but found it actually got lost in the outfit so switched to my cobalt/cream/black handbag. White/black specs and taupe/silver wrap watch finish off the outfit.

What do you think? Can I wear white as well as I can wear black? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: Aviators & Lace Moto

Today's outfit started with my navy lace moto - haven't worn this for a bit and after putting it on this morning, am wondering why not. Still love it! Maybe this is one of the benefits of simplifying my closet and wardrobe - rediscovery.

I've popped the lace moto over a column of black (adore black and navy together) - a simple black tank fully tucked into my Aviator trousers with a black leather belt added.

For footwear, I chose my trusty and oh so comfy black heeled sandals and for accessories, went with my olive/cobalt snakeskin clutch, black/white specs and silver bangle with silver wedding band.

Really happy with this look even though it's fairly dark. What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sleek and edgy boots (eta nevermind)

Can a boot be sleek, rugged and edgy all at the same time? These are Fluevog Darrin boots and I'm loving how they have a semi-pointed toe and smooth leather and overall, a fairly simple shape. At the same time, there are a few straps and buckles giving them a bit of edge.

What do you think of these?
