Sleek and edgy boots (eta nevermind)

Can a boot be sleek, rugged and edgy all at the same time? These are Fluevog Darrin boots and I'm loving how they have a semi-pointed toe and smooth leather and overall, a fairly simple shape. At the same time, there are a few straps and buckles giving them a bit of edge.

What do you think of these?

    Awesome! :)

Forgot to add that I'm considering these as my replacement boots for the Doc Marcies that I have had for a few years. I love my Marcies but I just can't wear that 4 inch heel height anymore. I have my black patent Ara booties for sleek and pretty, but I do like one pair of more edgy/rugged boots and that's what these would be.

Shannon, I'll take your Marcie's! :) and yes I love the Vogs.

I think these would be a perfect replacement for your Marcies.

modern and edgy, but not in your face hard. (does that make sense?) love these!

I like these a lot, Shannon. To my eye, they are not quite 'sleek'  because, I think, of the sole. But I agree that they are a bit edgy without being OTT and look like a more sleek/less casual version of rugged than others. And yes the smooth leather adds a bit of polish. So, overall, I think they are awesome :)

You know how to track them down. Awesome!

Well...did some reading of reviews on these particular boots and it's a bit of a mixed bag. A couple of folks commented that the buckles were cheap and came apart and a couple of comments that they ran quite narrow. These may not be "the ones". But I do like the idea of them and glad that you think they could work.

    Una - we'll talk! :)

I like them, but I also still like the Fryes you posted :)

I like them a lot, but if I had to deal with those buckles every time I wore them, they would drive me crazy.  is there a zipper?  They don't show the inside view.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

Well these are definitely off the table - more reviews are not favorable and Elizabeth - how on earth could I have not noticed there is NO ZIPPER! More checking revealed these boots only do up with the buckles. Forget that!

    Onward...

Gorgeous style, but I'm with you....I need a zipper :)

These are my kryptonite.  I love boots that have a hint of rugged edge and soles that work hard but make your feet and legs look sleek.

    Perfect!

Really like these. More than mine which I took to plug a similar hole in the wardrobe!
