WIW: Coming full circle

Dresses with a topper was my signature style about two years ago. Then I started experimenting more with skirts and pants, embracing the slouchy and bootcut trends, and semi tucking fluid knitwear. I realized in finding my EF dresses, that I have come back full circle to wearing dresses with a topper and LOVING IT! Isn't it funny how that works?

Today's outfit started with my blue EF drape front dress. I chose my white denim topper as I adore high contrast outfits. For footwear, I went with my comfy cream laser cut oxfords and then I finished off the outfit with my cobalt/cream quilted handbag, gold watch and wedding band, red specs and red lip.

Easy peasy lemon squeasy!

All comments/suggestions welcome and thanks for looking :)

Beautiful outfit!  The EF dresses are turning out to be core of your wardrobe.

It is amazing how you can style the dress in so many different ways. This has to be one of my favorites. I love the cut out oxfords and bag to finish the look.

You rock that dress. Your look is fresh, simple and so elegant. Your hair tops it all off beautifully. Love those oxfords!

Nothing is easier than a dress in summer!  Love the high contrast and balance of drape/structure.

That dress works so many ways for you - looks great with the white jacket!

Fabulous, Shannon! And you know, you're not the only "full circle" girl on this forum. Una, Deborah, and I (among others) have all admitted to coming full circle. Except (we hope!) a better version.  :)

I was just talking about something like that on my post.
You look radiant in your outfit!

It's fun to come full circle isn't it? I was just talking to Greg about that over the weekend.

This will always be a killer Iconic Shannon look in my mind. xo

That full circle it's called a signiture style:-). And you bet, I still love it!:-)

Cute and it looks so comfy! I love your glasses! You have more than 1 pair, right?

These EF dresses are the #1 item in my wardrobe right now. I seriously could wear them every single day. And I love how they can be changed up to easily with different footwear, toppers and handbags. Unfortunately they are now the standard to which all future dresses need to meet!

Suz & Angie - I've noticed the other threads about coming back to our signature style. I think for most people, the core of our style remains constant. We can experiment with all other sorts of looks, colors, silhouettes, etc. which help us confirm what our style love really is. And then when we come back full circle, it is with renewed enthusiasm and done in a modern way. Sure, it's still a dress and jacket but with a more current shape, color or proportion. At least, that's how I think it works...that's how I'm feeling about the color black again too, as I know Deborah is.

Here here Shannon!  Love this look on you and I love that you could wear the EF dress every day.. that's how I feel about my Metalicus dresses:)  The blue is just gorgeous on you btw.  Funny cos I am wearing all ink blue today but with black:)

This outfit is a show-stopper, Shannon. I love the blue and white, the adorable shoes, and I just about fainted when I saw the outfit with the bag.

I love this look on you, Shannon! It's simple/comfy yet I like that touch of casual retro edge (the shoes!!!!). Aren't EF dresses magical? I tried one yesterday and didn't want to take it off!

Funny how you mention dress + jackets were your signature - they were mine too about a season ago ;) and then I discovered tube skirts and the rest was history :) I personally think you will never get away from this signature. Dresses and jackets ARE a comfy combination so there is no doubt it will find it's way back to your comfy wardrobe!

I have been thinking about my original style too, and how it is now starting to resurface after I have tried other style personas. I agree with you that there is something different about it now: it is more modern and sleek, somehow more intentional and "planned."

Great outfit! I especially like the oxfords. I always love your pic at the end where you display some of your outfit components.

Yes, this is great on you! Serves as a good reminder to maybe not purge everything as quickly as our day-to-day tastes change. Eventually we come back to tried-and-true :) (it's even great to switch it up for a bit)
