WIW: The Blues

I'm wearing a total of 4 different shades of blue today! I started off with my navy eyelet Anne Klein dress (I think my favourite of all my dresses), popped over top with my faded denim jacket, added my cobalt KS pumps and a touch of turquoise in my cuff. I'm also debuting my new leather yellow faux snakeskin with cobalt blue zipper clutch - LOVE IT!

So can you wear too many blues? How are the proportions in this outfit? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Dress: Anne Klein (consignment)
Jacket: thrifted (no label)
Shoes: Kate Spade
Handbag: Trouve (Nordstrom)
Cuff: thrifted

Note that Gain is much more interested in the box that the clutch came in than the clutch itself...

All those tone on tone blues look fab IMO. You look lovely, what a great clutch.
As for Gain all I can say is ahhhhh so cute!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

In this instance definitely not too many blues:). This is totally fab! This silhouette is just lovely. It's feminine, the dress has a hint of retro, the shoes and clutch are so lady like and the cropped jacket is perfect. I love it!

Very nice Shannon. I don't think you can have too many shades of blue and the bit of yellow is very nice with the outfit. Those shoes look fab too.

Good morning. You look so lovely, so happy and sooo put together. I think different shades of one color gives a subtle look without overpowering. Those laughing eyes, lovely smile and great hair all combine to make you look fantastic. And there's Gain looking like my Kramer. They do like those boxes and sacks, don't they?

Psst! I think you might possibly get a "Killer" rating today from you-know-who! (or you should) :) You look gorgeous in this ensemble. Love everything about it!

there is no such thing as too many shades of blue, imo.
Your outfit is wonderful as always and I am so envious of your eyelet dress.
    Your cat is super cute.

    KILLER

    One of my faves *ever*.

    Hi Gain!

  • AndiB replied 11 years ago

This is the best outfit I've ever seen you post! Perfection!

  • Jonesy replied 11 years ago

Agree with Angie and others: you look truly smashing in these colors, this silhouette, everything. And the accessories are brilliant! Cute kitty, it goes without saying :).

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    I'm changing my rating:

KILLER to the power of KILLER

    These are Jonesy's colours :)

    *fanning myself from K-to-K rating*

  • Ginny replied 11 years ago

I second Angie, I love all the mix of blues!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Oooooh, the zipper with the shoooooes! Killing me! I don't think you can do too many blues at all - the more you add, the more "tonal" the outfit. :)

    *virtual chin scratch* to Gain.

  • Aida replied 11 years ago

I think it looks fab, multi blues especially! To me the dress is the "primary blue", and the shoes/purse zip are "accent blues" and very close in shade right?. The denim is neutral, and just happens to also be blue but to me it doesn't really read as an additional blue if that makes sense. And of course the yellow is another accent, but non-blue :)

    /rubs Gain's tummy!

I LOVE it! You look awesome - love how the zipper matches the shoes. Now I really want an eyelet dress...

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

Devilish twinkle in your eye with blue dress on! I love that song. This is perfection Shannon - simple concept, a little retro, updated accessories and jacket. And Gain is looking pretty happy with his new box :)

The other day our youngest cat (mid size) tried to climb inside an empty corn flakes box - they do love their boxes.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Well clearly this Anne Klein dress was worth every penny of the $25 I paid for it in the consignment store!

Thank you all so much for your lovely feedback.

And Gain says thank you ("meow") for the scritches and scratches. He also loves belly rubs in case anyone wants to know. He says "hi" to Hank, fellow YLF feline member! And also wants to give a shout out to Kramer, fellow box lover.

  • annagybe replied 11 years ago

This is all kinds of awesome!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Too many blues? Only if you can't stand K ratings!

Gain obviously knows a good thing when he sees it.

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

SQUEEE!! This outfit is so FAB, TS! Retro dress, trendy accessories, and the classic denim jacket all add up to a wowie zowie outfit! Luv it!
