WIW: Something Simple

An outfit doesn't get much simpler than this - trousers, sweater, booties. That's it.

I started with my Gap ivory & navy houndstooth sweater (soooooo soft and cozy 'cause we're back in the deep freeze) and paired it with my grey & navy Glen plaid wide legged trousers. For footwear, I popped on my blue suede booties and my handbag is my red quilted one. A couple pieces, nothing fancy and yet I feel really good in this outfit.

What do you think? Simple in a good way or boring? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Gap
Trousers: Ricki's (thrifted)
Boots: Aerosoles
Handbag: Nine West (thrifted)

I love that sweater on you. The fit is excellent and I like the graphic print. I can't really tell the booties are blue in the pics, but I love the red hand bag with it. I am partial to black, white and red. Love them together.

Looks great Shannon! Come here, it's 10C right now!! I am SWEATING in my trench and blazer. I almost just want to wear my t-shirt!

It's solid ice everywhere so treacherous for walking but it's SO WARM!

I love the blue bootie peeking out.

Simple is good! Fab sweater Shannon,I'm taking notes as I love that you have put blue booties with a red bag.

Another winner, Shannon! i love the graphic print on your lovely sweater and the pops of color in your accessories. The pants seem to be very comfy in a stylish way! Too bad with the freezing temperatures. We've just come out of a long period of -15-20C here, now it's only -3! I really dislike cold weather.

Simple in a very good way and not boring at all! No one wearing such a perfect houndstooth sweater could look boring.

I think simple, clean lines in traditional colours like this complement your hair style. There something arty and studious at the same time going on in this look - especially if those booties are a periwinkle purple/blue as they look like they might be. Really cool look and timeless too. Way to go.

Very nice, I like simple! You have some color and pattern in there to make it a bit more fun though.

Those boots are so lovely on you, and your outfit looks very put together, as usual. I hope your rough week is proceeding as planned...

I like the neutral colors with the blue booties and red bag. Clean and subtle.

Shannon, I think when you have really amazing singular pieces (like you do here), you need less of them to make a beautiful outfit. There is a lot of interest with texture, pattern and color, and I especially love the way the houndstooth sweater plays with the quilted bag. Lovely!

Don't you look snuggly! I love the purse -- such a nice pop of color.

Ok, your local minimalist modern classic here ... let's see, is your outfit boring? OF COURSE NOT IT'S FABULOUSLY PERFECT!

I love your pattern mixing: houndstooth + glen plaid sounds lovely. And the accessories make the outfit "Shannon".

The houndstooth sweater makes this a seriously non-boring outfit and as you've kept it simple the sweater gets to be the star.

Simple, fun, flattering and comfy! What's not to love :)

    Simple, yes. Boring, no.

I like cobalt blue and red. Superhero colors!

The print on the sweater (and pattern mixing) still are powerful and graphic enough to carry such a simple outfit. Simple is good ......great in fact.....especially on a cold day in the middle of the week.

Love! This is my favorite kind of FFBO - TWO pieces (dress and jacket. jeans and topper, skinnies and tunic). More than two pieces confuse me. ;)

Simple & strong - the bag adds the sass imo.
