WIW: Black & Blue

We're back in the deep freeze so back to warm trousers and layers again. I started with my black slouchy trousers and paired them with my asymmetrical ruched tank. On top of that I added my dark blue pleather moto style jacket. For footwear, I popped on my cobalt suede booties again. My yellow-cobalt clutch seemed like the perfect handbag with this outfit.

Although rather dark and moody, my happiness scale is very high in this outfit.

What do you think? does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Revolutions
Tank: Attitude by Jay Manuel
Trousers: Lord & Taylor
Booties: Aerosoles
Clutch: Trouve

Love! The black and blue is gorgeous and the belt and bag are just right.

It's moody in a great way -- love the black and blue together. And you don't look like you dressed in he dark

I love the blue jacket -- unique pairing with the black and the purple boot pops it nicely.

How is your week going at work? Once again you look in control and ready to take on difficult bosses. I immediately thought of Angie's blue/black/white formula which would be wonderful with a white top for the black another time

Looks terrific, Shannon! That bag has been one of your best this season. Very versatile!

And the blue jacket - I don't think I've seen it before! Wow!

Dark and moody, but you also look warm and cozy. I really like that blue leather jacket with the blue booties.

Who would have thought a yellow python clutch could be so versatile? Love the colors here.

    It's really pretty Shannon.

Oh, very nice! Have your tough outfits helped you out this week?

Dressing "stronger" has indeed helped me cope with this crazy week and I think translates into feeling more confident. It's all good.

Suz - I bought this jacket the day after I bought my cognac one (they're the same jacket). I really like the fit of these. I've worn the blue one a few times but not as often as the cognac one. I'm starting to wonder why.

Pil - this yellow clutch was such a good buy! I always feel stylish when I use it.

    Thanks ladies!

One of my favorite combos! I especially like the varied shades of blue involved, which I don't think I've tried before. Very effective.

Really great Shannon! Love your jacket. Hope you are getting through your week ok. Only one more day to go... roll on Friday evening!

I love black and blue together (and my interior designers are also obsessed with this colour combo at the moment). That is a great jacket too! The mix of the blues, makes this such an unexpected and dynamic look.

Oh I am liking dark and moody very much!

You had me at black & blue - great look. I like Joy's suggestion too.

Did you get a haircut? It looks great! :)

Blue and gold is what I see first - go Bombers!!!!

Whenever you wear that bag it adds soooo much style to the outfit. I like the neutrals here, with the bag taking center stage. That's not to say the clothing is uninteresting -- just minimal with subtle interest provided by the range of textures.

I really like it, moody and all! The boots and jacket really make it pop, and the bag is amazing!

How is your week going with the tough fill-in?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

lyn - "blue and gold" - go Bombers is right! Just got a trim - every 4-5 weeks religiously.

Denise - this clutch has been fab for me and I must say, despite all its use it is holding up incredibly well.

Thanks Rae, Diane, Susie, Tina, Jayne, Caro and Thistle!
