WIW: Slouchy, purple & a pinch of animal

I have one of those physical kind of days at work today - running around with some lifting and packing, so comfort is key. I started with my black slouchy trousers and added my dark purple v-neck merino wool sweater. For comfy footwear, I'm wearing my Doc Marcie boots. Then for a bit of pattern and a wee bit more colour, I've added my animal print belt. My handbag today is a grey faux snakeskin day clutch. For outwear, I'm wearing a large houndstooth print, cropped swing jacket in light pink, cream and charcoal. Jewelry is my gold oversized watch and a ring.

What do you think? All work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Gap
Trousers: Lord & Taylor
Belt: Streets Ahead
Boots: Doc Martens Marcies
Jacket: Nygard
Watch and ring: thrifted

Comfortable, but still just as chic as can be, Shannon!
I love those slouchy pants, and with that great houndstooth jacket and clutch you are just too fab for words!

Such a great jacket on you, Shannon! You have such a great style - you are so fashionable but you wear the trends, the trends don't wear you. I love your slouchies, your pattern mixing, and your confidence!

Your outfit looks like a perfect choice for your day do that you will be able to move and bend. You look cute and ready for anything. But that jacket really kicks up the style. I love it on you!

I love the slouchy pants and the purple sweater! I recently thrifted a similar sweater in a similar color and I can't wait for the weather to cool down more so I can wear it. I'm definitely a "wear it now" sort of person and it's killing me that it's too warm to wear my new finds (I bought three sweaters and a dress that needs tights and boots to be work appropriate). I'll just have to live vicariously through you.

The jacket is so interesting, and everything else is as usual very well planned and executed. I wouldn't change a thing. You look perfectly dressed for your tasks today, and I want that jacket!

I have always thought that the swing jacket is one of the hardest shapes to wear well but you have definitely pulled it off successfully.

The jacket, the jacket! *swoon* Just perfect on you. And only you could wear a three inch heel on a day you need to be comfortable. I'm not worthy!

Excellent choice for your day, Shannon. I love this deep purple --- it's such a grown, up but saturated color. The belt gives the interest to the solid fabrics and the jacket is stunning!

    Thank you for comments all!

I actually thrifted this Nygard houndstooth jacket last fall and never wore it until now. I think I was unsure if it worked on me so I appreciate your comments that it looks ok.

Claire - I definitely couldn't run around in normal three inch heels, like a pump, but somehow the Doc Marcies don't feel that high. I think they're "magic" boots - lol!

    Angie - :)
