WIW: Silk & White

It's another perfectly miserable day here today - rain, rain and more rain and fairly cool...anyway, because it's cool I decided it was a good day to wear my first of the J Jill silk button down shirts, this one in Loganberry. I've paired it with my white jeans (I want to wear these at least once a week!), my two tone Aerosole oxford sandals, white watch for accessories and my camel leather handbag. I'm not sure the camel handbag is a good mix with this shirt but it goes with the sandals and to be honest, I was just too lazy to switch it for something else!

So how does this look? Proportions ok? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

    Looking good, lady! Love that color of purple on you, and I'm in serious envy of the watch.

    I do agree that the bag color doesn't quite work with the shirt.

    I love the combo and the white watch... To die for! I could see your green bag for a casual vibe or the black white colorblock too. I have been enjoying your outfits and thrifting revelation... Just busy lately so mainly lurking. Looks great!

    Love how the white watch gives you another pop of white! I want one.

    I think the bag works fine but others in your wardrobe would look equally fab - green, dotty (I THINK you have a dotty, too?), colour-blocked, blue...

    Shannon i love the simplicity of this outfit. The blouse is lovely. I don't mind the camel bag with this, on my screen it reads a little yellownwhich I like.

    So pretty!! I am wearing almost the same outfit again today too! Except I have my polka dots on again. I am wearing mine with my beige bag and I quite like the combination of beige shoes, beige bag and white jeans. I think it works!

    Clean, simple, crisp and no-nonsense! Love it :)

    The white watch does wonders! The proportions are perfect to my eye.

    This is a fab outfit, Shannon! You always look so good in purple! I think this bag looks fine, but I think your black and white purse would look great, too!

    Looks very lovely and restful! I love the purple blouse with the white jeans and your light footwear. Don't you just love your white watch? I wear mine much more than my rose gold seiko. The bag looks very pretty with the outfit!

    I love how uncluttered this feels - great way to feel the spring vibe despite the weather. If you don't like this bag with it, maybe try a bright, vibrant color to go with the brightness of the white pants?

    Shannon, I love those white jeans on you and the loganberry shirt is fab. Very crisp look. I quite like the neutral bag with the outfit but think the dotty one would be nice too. I'm not sure I would introduce another bright with the green but I am not naturally a color mixer so I am jaded (no pun intended).

    I love how the shirt fits and such a good length for wearing loose over pants. That is hard to find (at least for me so I am always projecting that onto others lol) and when it works this well it is great! Pretty color too.
    The bag is a nice neutral and good for summer (or when you want it to be more summer like).

    Thank you all so much for your comments and suggestions - always very much appreciated! I'm not sure I'm brave enough to pair the green handbag with this, but I do think my little dotty cross-body or the black/white handbag would work.

    bj1111 - thank you for your lovely compliments regarding my "face". I use about as little make up as I can get away with. I just recently started using foundation as I do have a few age related brown spots that cropped up in the last year. I use Bare Minerals foundation applied very lightly, then put a little of the foundation on a concealer brush and just dab it onto the brown spots. A quick sweep of the Bare Minerals "warmth" (their combination of bronzer and blush I guess), Body Shop brow powder as my eyebrows have a few sparse spots and Bare Minerals mascara. I use almost exclusively Body Shop lipstick as it has beeswax in it and keeps my lips moisturized. I don't like to look all made up and still want my freckles and natural skin tone to show through.

    Shannon, I am sorely tempted to recreate your outfit but with my new white denim clams. I have a white watch too. Now what bag to add...I have a purple one, a red one, a blue one...

    That would look fantastic - and then I'll recreate it again when I get my white clams back from Wonder Woman (lol)!

    I think a blue handbag would look smashing - I love blue and purple together. The purple handbag might be too matchy, you know?

    Sweet! The watch is just the right accessory. I know nothing about matching handbags, so it looks great to me.
