WIW: New white sweater, slouchy & the Vogs

Today's outfit shows the final new item I bought in the last two weeks to round out my spring wardrobe and carry me into summer. Although with the new snow we received yesterday, it's hard to think spring!

I fell hard for this white sweater from Peter Nygard, with its cut outs which give you "skin polka dots". It's light weight which results in a nice drape when you semi tuck. Obviously I've layered a white cami underneath but I think it could be fun with a coloured tank underneath for a different look. The sweater will work with many of my bottoms from casual to work wear, pants and skirts.

I've semi tucked the sweater into my black slouchy trousers and then added the Fluevogs Suz sent me for footwear. I like not having predictable black footwear on today and I find this olive colour with the lighter coloured strap to read as a neutral. To bring in another green element, I'm using my newly thrifted 100% leather clutch. It is more of a minty-moss green but I like it against the white and black outfit.

All in all, I'm very happy with this outfit. What do you think? Does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Sweater: Peter Nygard
Trousers: Joe Fresh
Shoes: Fluevog
Clutch: Naturalizer (thrifted)

Suz: BTW this Nygard sweater was at The Bay and also came in fuchsia...just saying...

This is fun! I am just waiting for my pickup as I am digging on an island today, and you look fantastic!

What do I think? I think I will take that sweater while I am nabbing your lace moto! I love the Joe Fresh slouchy trousers too. Wow!

Shannon this particularly striking. The black and white is beautiful and the touches of green kind of unusual but stunning. I could see a cami the same colour as your bottoms working under the sweater.

Your sweater is fab! And I think the tones of green are unusual together yet they work. You look great.

Ooh, that's a terrific textured sweater! It looks great on you.
When I read the post title, I thought, "Slouchy and the Vogs"- sounds like a 60s rock group! :-)
    You look fabulous!

You look great! I can't believe how many fab finds you make at the Bay! This sweater is fun. I might just have to check it out in fuchsia....you enabler, you!

Shevia - you can come over any time and borrow anything - I'll put the coffee on :)

Parsley - that's so funny you thought it sounded like a band name too - I had that exact same thought when I typed it out!

Suz - the sweater was on sale for Bay Days and was only $21...

Thanks everyone - I'm really enjoying wearing this today :)

This is stunning!!  I love the simplicity behind it:  Black & white with a touch of color, basic idea of sweater and pants, and you've even embodied anna's epiphany of 'basics' with knockout footwear!  (Although, your 'basics' are basics with a twist ;-) )

Peter Nygard is just in Canada?

I like the green shoes with the black and white.  It's unexpected yet the color is fairly subtle.  The sweater looks great for summer.

SO CHIC!! I just love it, Shannon. You are a true Urban Prince at the moment.

(Go away wretched snow. You are getting in the way of Shannon's Spring style).

    That pullover is divine.

MNsara - you know, I'm not sure if Nygard is available outside of Canada. I will have to check. There are two specific Nygard lines - Peter Nygard (who is the designer and is his higher end clothing) and Bianca Nygard (named after his daughter).

Sara - it is like a "summer sweater" isn't it?

Angie - thank you so much. And I very much appreciate your admonishment of the snow - lol! I'm so glad you like the pullover - I think I actually gave a tiny squeal when I put it on in the dressing room :)
  • Angie replied 11 years ago
I could hear that little squeal in Seattle.
  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago
    I wouldn't doubt it Angie - lol!

It's funny how when you put something on that's right, you just know it immediately don't you?

I love this on you Shannon - the white is just fab.

So great, Shannon!  This is a super transitional look.  That textured sweater is almost exactly like the one Angie featured in her blog the other day.

Shannon, you are on the roll of happy finds lately. Love this sweater, especially with slouchy pants. Hmm, I still have the hole of white summer tops to fill, maybe I should check this out...
  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago
Nancy - I did smile when I saw the sweater Angie featured because it was so similar.

Sveta - it truly is a lovely sweater and so soft against the skin. It would look fantastic on you but I will say that it isn't very long. Definitely worth trying on though. I have to admit, I'm thinking of seeing if they still have the fuchsia one in my size.

    Thanks Caro!

You rock the faux tuck. I really like your trousers too.
