WIW: lace & cargo

It drives me crazy how these cargo pants photograph black when in fact they are a true olive green. I think I'm going to go back to my camera for pics instead of the camera app on my phone since I'm not happy with these pictures.

Anyhoo...today's outfit started with my olive cargo pants as it's a bit rainy and cool today. I paired the pants with my cream lace tee, semi tucked into an animal print belt. I then chose my cream laser cut oxfords to mimic and bookend the lace tee. For accessories I went with my snakeskin handbag which has olive, cream and taupe tones in it, and my taupe/silver wrap watch. Finally I went with my purple/clear specs and a swipe of my watermelon shade lipstick.

What are your thoughts on this outfit? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Tee: Smart Set
Pants: Ricki's
Shoes: Dolce Vita
Handbag: Elliott Lucca
Watch: Fossil

It most definitely works for me!  Perfect for a cool rainy day.

And isn't it annoying how cameras and computers interpret colour?  I run all my photos through Lightroom, just to make sure...  but it is definitely extra work.

You look wonderful. Love that lace shirt. I bought one at BR last year and have not been pleased with the quality. Yours looks amazing, however.

Great outfit! I love that tee on you. The sheer sleeves make it so much better than a regular tee. Great book ending with the shoes too!

That's a fab tee, Shannon! I love how it and the shoes echo each other.

Soooooooo...spilled coffee on my cargo pants just when leaving the house this morning so am now wearing the lace tee and cream oxfords with my burgundy skinnies instead...don't ya just love mornings???

Wow do they ever photograph black! Glad you pointed out that they are (or were!!) olive. Love the top and the bookending with the cutout shoes. I'm sure it looks just as fab with the burgundy too :)

LOVE. It all comes together perfectly in #3 especially. I vote k-word worthy.

(Thanks for reminding us that the cargos are olive).

Really nice outfit - love the way the tee and the shoes echo each other not just in color but in the perforations of the shoes and the overlay and sleeves of the tee!

P.S.- I really like the way the front of your hair looks here and can't help but wonder about you getting it cut shorter now. Have you made your mind up?

Oh Shannon you have nailed it again. And, I am swooning over that top. I may have to go and search it our you sweet enabler.

Lovely combo! White+olive, lace+cargo, and scales+perforation. All work together really wonderfully. Sorry to hear that your coffee wanted to head to work with you, I'm sure the burgundy skinnies looked fab too :)

A great look with lace and olive cargos being an unexpected twist.

Wish I could see the olive, but the silhouette and bookending are top notch.  Wear this one again, Shannon!

Textstyle - interesting you mention my hair cause today I was having one of those great hair days where I didn't want to change it. Now I don't know.

Mary - it was you rocking your olive cargo pants that got me looking for them in the first place!

Thanks for your feedback all. The burgundy skinnies worked well but I did prefer the outfit with the olive cargos.

The outfit is amazing on you. (I would love to have all of it myself, too.) That black olive is a fantastic neutral, and it's not so easy to find. Your styling is impeccable; every piece plays so well in creating the overall look.

Love this outfit. The tee is a statement piece with the sleeves.

Great outfit, I really like the angle and sheerness of the sleeves, very flattering.
