WIW: EF dress with cream moto vest

I've been wanting a white or cream moto style vest for spring/summer but the ones I tried were all too long or the arm holes way too deep. I also didn't want lining as that would make it too hot for high summer.

I found this fab knit number a couple of weeks ago and today is its debut. I've popped the vest over my black EF drape front dress for a high contrast outfit. I also like the juxtaposition of the angular vest with the soft drape of the dress. The sleeves of the dress aren't the best for a vest but it's not an outfit breaker for me.

I decided to keep the outfit cream and black so chose my bone/silver sandal shoes and my oversized snakeskin print clutch. A large silver bangle watch and red specs finish off the outfit.

What do you think? Does this work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

    A superb look. You look VERY polished.

    Have you considered a shoulder bag with chain like Chanel 2.55? I like keeping the focus at the top...with your vest and specs. But hey, I'm a novice. Let's see what everyone else has to say!

    Fabulous outfit Shannon, I also like the contrast not only in colour, but in styles between the vest and the dress.  That's a great vest, btw!

    This is really beautiful Shannon. To my eye it's modern and fresh and very elegant. I just adore the size of the clutch:) bits kind of my benchmark but I haven't found anything that big:)

    That one suits you perfectly in terms of cut.

    I love this look.  The black dress is beautiful on you. 

    The white moto vest is on my wish list.  I have the black Club Monaco (Angie's pick) one and I have been surprised at how much wear it gets.

    Love the structure and slight edge in the vest against the draped dress and feminine, modern sandals.  This is a wonderfuly arty, but simple, work look!

    Nice vest!  Looks great on you.  It doesn't have the stupid, busy side buckles of one I tried -- that would unbuckle after 30 seconds.

    Does this mean you returned the Kenneth Cole white with black trim one?

    Does it work?? Understated question of the year--ha ha! Smashing outfit, and it's really flattering on you. The vest is a great find. I think it's perfectly fine over the short or cap sleeves, too.

    Looks wonderful... I've been debating all day about my creme faux leather moto vest and wondering if I wil get a chance to wear it soon, as the temps have been too hot... You look inspired me to see if i can wear it with my Calvin Klein black with white stripe dress... Keeping my fingers crossed!
