WIW: Ink-Out

Hey all! Sorry I haven't been around the last week or so - I actually flew out to the West Coast to have a few days with my 90-year-old Dad. Had a wonderful time and if while growing old I can be so healthy and positive, I will be one lucky lady :)

I loved Angie's ensemble post with dark ink blue and finally have the chance to wear it. I started my outfit with my trouser jeans (yay for casual Friday!) and added my navy sparkly pullover (the Christmas gift one from DS a few years ago). On top of that I added my dark blue leather jacket (shout out to jacket twin Ceit, who I miss incredibly). It is certainly cold enough here to wear my leather indoors in a similar manner to a blazer.

For footwear, I took Angie's ensemble advice and went with black - my black patent pointy toe booties to be exact. And then to carry the ink-out idea to the max, I chose my dark blue leather handbag.

Red specs, bold red lip and silver wedding band round out the outfit.

So what do you think? Is this a decent spin off of Angie's brilliant ensemble? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Danier Leather
Pullover: Laura Petite
Jeans: Reitmans
Booties: Ara
Handbag: Coach (vintage)

Very good to see you and you are looking fab:)  Love this ensemble.  Beautiful dark tones and so elegantly modern.  I have to ask...do you have a leather jacket in every colour?

  • Summer replied 9 years ago

I think it's a lovely rendition of Angie's ensemble, and I love that leather jacket.
It's good to know that your Dad is doing so well at 90.  Let's hope you've inherited his genes.

Hey, great to see you again!  You know I'm going to love this, given I love ink, and I also have that jacket :)

How great that your Dad is doing so well, and that you had a nice visit with him.  You probably enjoyed the balmy weather they're having too!

Love this!! Looks FAB on you :) I am so envious of your leather jacket collection lol

Wonderful. Love those dark tones. So striking and sophisticated -- but with that "Don't mess with me" message. You have me thinking about a dark blue leather coat. Your's is dreamy!

Hi Shannon!  Welcome back to the reality of Winnipeg in February. :)    Love this ink-out on you - really looks good and I like the change from our usual blacks.  Good trouser jeans too - I would like a pair myself.

You look great, Shannon! Welcome back. How nice that you could have a trip with your dad. Sounds really positive :)

Great to see you Shannon - love your rendition of ink out.  Very happy to hear you had a nice visit with your Dad.

You look gorgeous in your ink-out outfit, girlfriend! Your leather jacket collection is the best I've ever seen. I'm getting a bit of a "rocker chic" vibe from this outfit and I love that.

How wonderful that your dad is doing so well at age 90, and it's great that you got a chance to go visit him.

I was thinking of attempting my own ink-out outfit in a few hours, and I need to dress for warmth too. It's -2 F here now, with a "feels like" temp. of -22. I hope it warms up quickly in the next two hours! Brr...!

Yes, this is a great spin off of Angie's ensemble.  That's a gorgeous color on the leather jacket.

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

Well, of course!  Add Danier, and everything is fab!

This is great way to dress for winter -- deep, but not flat black.  This would be a great travel outfit, too.

Gorgeous ensemble!  What a blessing to spend time with your dad :)

    Deborah - I don't have a leather jacket in every color...YET!

Elizabeth - how did I not know you had this jacket??? As for the weather, it was +15 when I stepped off the plane in BC and -40 with windchill when I stepped off the plane in Winnipeg. Why on earth did I come back? :)

AM - this dark blue leather jacket has turned out to be far more versatile than I had originally hoped for. Definitely worth thinking about...

Lisap - I REALLY wanted to turn around and tell the pilot to take me back to BC! Honestly...will this cold ever end?

Karie - ahhhh...your comment about "rocker chic" is very timely. I'll be posting a separate thread about some style musings and a few things I've nailed down in what I'm wanting to project.

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments.

It was soooooo good to see my Dad (and my sister, who lives in the same town). Time with family is so precious.

Great to see you Shannon! Looking fabulous too. Love the different textures and tones of ink here and I agree with Karie, you have an awesome collection of leather jackets. As always your smile is your best accessory Shannon, YLF!

PS so nice to spend time with your dad, mine is  a year shy of 90, we need to treasure our time with them eh?

Very nice!  And do I detect a hint of sparkle???

This outfit is gorgeous on you, Shannon. I wish the blue came through better in the full-length photos, but I can see it clearly in the closeup of your shoes, bag, and jacket. Lovely, rich color, and your touches of red are perfect with it.
Glad you had a great visit with your dad. Welcome back!
