Spring booties for me?

Kinda crushing on these white and black cut out SE booties for spring/summer. Sam Edelman tend to fit my feet quite comfortably and the heel is more than manageable on these.

Would love your thoughts on whether or not you see these working with my style?

Interesting. Colour-wise, sure they'll work!  Does the toe look really elongated , or is it just my eye ?  They don't strike me as a work look for you though based on what you usually wear - although they'd look cool with jeans for a casual Friday ensemble.  Clearly, I'm mixed...

They are gorgeous booties Shannon.  I have bought them and returned them last spring.  They were fairly comfortable, but they gaped a lot around my skinny ankles and just did not look right.  They are quite a statement, so you would have to be comfortable with that.

  • texstyle replied 9 years ago

They are very interesting but I agree they are quite a statement - so I'm not sure if they are right or not. They have a sort of rock and roll vibe to me for whatever reason.

Those are gorgeous!  How do you feel about them? Do you love them? Do they point in the direction you want your style to go?

I have seen a bit more edge to your style, but these are a lot more edge. Still, if your heart loves them, you will find a way.

Love these.  I think Lisa and Tanya have good points... although I can see them with your VC skirt for work.

Where did you find them?  ie somewhere in the frozen north?

  • shiny replied 9 years ago

    YES! Love.

  • Sara L. replied 9 years ago

I love them and think they could work well with your style.

  • lyn67 replied 9 years ago

It's a pant bootie to my eye. Love, esp they are white and cut out!

I have these in all black and I love them.  Very comfortable to me. I wear them with skinny pants and jeans, but also with skirts and dresses.  I didn't know they came in black and white as well.  I can see you in these, Shannon.

I love these and can see them working well with your style. I can easily imagine them with pants but would love to see them with a skirt or dress. To me, they sound like they would work, and since Linda wears them that way I am optimistic. They're so similar to my VC cage sandals but just that much cooler. Now I want them too. :)

  • kkards replied 9 years ago

placing devil's advocate here....if it's warm enough to warm cut out booties, will you want to wear booties or would you be wantingt to wear sandals?

  • deb replied 9 years ago

I think you would have to purchase and see how they work with your outfits. Is there free returns?

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

I bought a similar pair (mine are black & flat) & they are down to cents per wear - so much more useful than I thought they would be. They work with all my pants & jeans. They also work with my longer shorts so they should work with skirts/dresses. Worth a try imo they add that funky edge :)

Thank you so much for your thoughtful feedback ladies :) Much to think about. I'm picturing them with rolled BF jeans (white and denim) as well as my various VC tube skirts.

Lisa - the toe is somewhat elongated, yes but I suspect the angle of the picture makes it look more so. I actually like the feature.

Tanya - sorry these didn't work out for you but it sounds like my "fuller" ankles might be a benefit with these.

Thistle - where do I see my style heading? Boy...that's the million dollar question! I am enjoying a bit of edge and think I really want to explore how to combine edge with a more simply style if that makes any sense.

Elizabeth - found them on eBay from a seller I've purchased from before. You wouldn't want to wear them in frozen Winnipeg today - it's freezing!

kkards - I wouldn't mind wearing these in spring heading into summer. And my office is wickedly cold in the summer due to the A/C so covered toes would be welcome.

They are returnable if they don't work out. Will think on it some more - thanks for the wisdom!

  • Debbie replied 9 years ago

I think you should try. A wildcard piece for the spring!

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

I think given they are returnable, you should give them a try.  There is not question they are a gorgeous bootie.  If they were in black, I would be prepared to fight you for them :)  Your work lighter coloured shoes very well into your wardrobe so I see them as a definite possibility.  The black on the back is a nice touch and I can see that making them more workable too.  My only complaint about white footwear is that it can look too stark but with your expert stying abilities, they are a very strong possibility :)

Love these!  I find an edgy booty makes all my more classic a retro pieces seem fresh.  Can't wait to see them on your feet!

  • frannieb replied 9 years ago

I think they look fun and sense they are returnable the great thing is you can bring them home and have some style lab fun to figure out if they are meant to be or not.

  • Momo replied 9 years ago

I have those and I absolutely love them! I keep looking longingly at them as it is way too cold to wear them right now.

  • Susie replied 9 years ago

I looked at them last year, Shannon, so I know I like them! I'm not sure why I didn't end up trying them. I think they could be great for you. White shoes can be tricky but these have a cool/ slightly edgy look that makes them appealing.

  • replied 9 years ago

Love the look of them. I definitely see them more with pants and jeans. I guess you'll just have to try them and see how they play with the rest of your wardrobe.

  • rute replied 9 years ago

    oh yes! Go for it!

  • Style Fan replied 9 years ago

I think these would be gorgeous for Spring and maybe Summer.  Great with jeans and some pants.  I wish I had them right now in Florida.  The temp is perfect for them.   A little too cool for sandals and too warm for my booties.  I am not a white person but might work with your style.  Very edgy looking.

  • Rubygirl replied 9 years ago

Very nice! I love booties. Guess I have booties love and desire. Sadly though I can not wear them unless I can find a lace up pair.

I do love looking at them but so desire to find a pair that work for me.

Shoes  being for me is challenge with my drop foot, which I wish would just stop being a drop foot. I have the brace that goes from my knee to under my foot. I do not like wearing it so I have another apparatus that works but requires shoes/boots with laces or a way to incorporate the stapes into them so I can then wrap around my ankle to keep the front part of my foot up.

  • Lisa replied 9 years ago

    I like them!

  • rachylou replied 9 years ago

Oh, I definitely see these as being in line with your style preferences... not to be an enabler or anything ;)

  • unfrumped replied 9 years ago

I think you would have to try them. They could either be cool, or give an alien-lizard look. Trick is to see whether they echo or compete with your high-contrast prints and graphics

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 9 years ago

My immediate thought was Yes! They are so you. Still think so. I love the cutouts, because they can echo a lot of things. They can look like stripes, for instance. They can let your skin peek through and give some continuity with the leg that way. You could wear colored tights and let the color peek through. The black on the back goes with all your black things. And the white with cutouts and black back could be a subtle bookend to your salt and pepper hair.
