WIW: Fluid & Structure

Today's outfit started with my blue EF drape front dress - easy, comfortable, figure forgiving and still stylish. What more can you ask for?

On top of the dress, I added my crisp white blazer, with scrunched sleeves and then chose my bone/silver sandal shoes to bookend the light colour of the blazer.

I chose my large cream handbag and taupe/silver wrap watch for accessories and finished off the outfit with my red specs and watermelon shade lipstick.

I feel like this outfit is a perfect combination of fluid and structure. What do you think? Does it work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

I am so happy you found that dress in blue too, it's lovely on you. I think the jacket looks fine with it, but I would almost want to see something cropped or boxier somehow? I don't know.

I think you look beautiful! Love this!

Another vote for cropped jacket here. The colour of this dress is so so beautiful.

Shannon that blue dress is super flattering and gorgeous on you. I would love to have something similar. And I would wear your today's outfit in a heartbeat :). Lovely!

Gorgeous. Love the shimmering pale neutrals especially, and goodness, what a dress. Bet it looks like a sack on the hanger and then you put it on and... Wowzer! Very flattering colour and what a fab length (assuming no alteration was needed?)

Stunning! I do love that dress. So glad you got both black and blue:)

The blue of that dress is spectacular on you. EF definitely gets you!

Shannon's back and rockin'! You look fantastic. I do believe there's been blue and white fever running through YLF this week :). I like your blazer with this a lot, but others have made a good point about a cropped one too. I guess it would be great to compare. Great to have you back.x

Ceit & Mona - I almost wore the dress with my CM floral cropped moto which works great but decided to go with a crisper color combination this morning. Next time!

Manidipa - honestly, when I first pulled the dress out of the box I was like "oh my...that looks horrid" but when I pulled it on, oh yes...sooooooo much better.

Thanks Joy, Neel, Dianne, Deborah, Shevia and Diane G :)

Great dress!  I also love the silver and white combination on your shoes.  I always try on at least a dozen dresses when I shop because so many of them look like nothing on the hanger and then look great when on a body (and the opposite is true too - they look great on the hanger and then horrid when I try them on).

Welcome back! You look fab as usual!! Love the crisp white with the blue. Oh and the shoes, the shoes! Loving the subtle shine paired with the crisp white and blue.

The dress fits you amazingly! Love it with the white.

Love that dress on you - wow, great choice!  I think it looks really nice with the cream/white accents. And those shoes - love, love those too. I'm assuming they are really comfortable or you wouldn't have chosen them. I wonder if the brand is available in the U.S. Off to look!

Love the dress. Would also like to see it with the CM floral moto.

A crisp, classic spring combination, and modern in its execution. What more could one ask for? I love the hints of red in particular. The blue dress is perfect for you. I don't think the proportions are off with the length of the blazer at all.

The dress is beautiful on you, Shannon! I like the blue even more than the black. No wonder you love it. I like it with this blazer. I see what Ceit is saying but to my mind the way the skirt narrows at the bottom makes the proportions work well.

I love navy (I'm wearing the color head to toe today!) and this dress fits you beautifully and looks gorgeous. I think it looks fine with the blazer you chose, and next time we'll get to see it with your white moto which I'm sure is equally as fab!

What a fabulous dress! I like the light colored accents for a spring/summer look. Very fresh!

I love the shoes! This just looks easy breezy and pulled together with or without the jacket. I especially love the contrast between the blue and white/silver accessories and jacket. YLF!

The simplicity of this is what makes it such a winner! No fuss but oozes style.
