WIW: Denim & Chelseas

Good morning Fabbers :) Heading into the last full week of work before Christmas and it's gonna be a CRAZY one!

Today's outfit started with my black suit skirt and black footless leggings. I then added my new (from clearance) black silky sleeveless wrap top. In order to create an asymmetrical look as well as bring up some of the length since the top is too long on me but not a style that can be shortened, I semi tucked the right-hand corner into the waist band of my skirt. Then I popped on my faded denim faux leather sleeved jacket (sleeves scrunched). I love wearing jackets as indoor blazers.

To finish off the outfit, I chose my black Chelsea boots, cobalt/cream/black quilted handbag, red specs and red lipstick.

This is pretty casual for work but definitely wearable in my office. What do you think? Does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Buffalo
Top: Danier Leather
Skirt: Nygard
Leggings: Calvin Klein
Boots: Clarks
Handbag: Danier Leather

Danier is making great tops for you Shannon! Great casual, but not too casual, look!

Looks great! Cobalt bag and faded denim really light up the black here.
I don't know why but denim jackets is a summer thing for me - for some reason I don't feel them right on me in winter. Weird because I do wear jeans year round, just no the jackets...

I agree with Sveta, about the denim and blue really lighting up the black.. fab!Great proportions too.

Shevia - I'm really loving Danier's clothing items these days. I just wish they made them in petite sizing...

Sveta - it's funny how I consider a denim jacket a rear round item and you think of them as a summer item. And that is why fashion is subjective :)

    Diane - :)

Go forth and be strong !  :)  I love that jacket - one of my favourite's among your collection of cool things.

    Oh, YES!

Also love that jacket on you, always have.  I think it's great that you find ways to wear it in the winter.

Danier is really doing some great things with tops, aren't they? Their fabrics are just gorgeous.  Of course I went straight to check that one out, but luckily (I think) my size is gone :)

    Super outfit, Shannon.

I am funny about the denim jackets --- I pretty much feel like Sveta. But NOT for my leather sleeved denim jacket (that looks sort of like this one) which I ONLY wear in fall/ winter!!

BTW, are you sure that top can't be altered? I had an asymmetrical hemmed tunic top from Costco that just felt too long on me no matter what and I had Wonder Woman East do something to it and now I adore it! But semi tucking also works here, so no worries.

Danier, also known as "The Canadian Secret to Fabness"

You look terrific, and ready for a busy day.  Love the bit of lace peeking out there!

Now that is the type of Denim jacket I just might be able to consider :)  I love this.  It's such a great combo of lady like and edge.  I am loving your hair too:)

Ooh! I just bought a sleeveless denim jacket today, and I was wondering how to wear it. This is good inspiration, thanks!

perfect! i also think of denim jackets as indoor toppers, i don't think i've worn one as an outdoor jacket in years.
