WIW: Day 2 of dress challenge

Today's dress that I haven't worn for a while is my Anne Klein navy eyelet fit and flare. Love the full skirt and retro style of this dress. I popped on a dark brown leather with brass grommet detail belt for waist emphasis and then added my faded cropped denim jacket as protection against the A/C. Footwear are my new Blondo sandals and handbag is my thrifted vintage Italian straw-like bag.

I'm not sure this quite pulled together the way I was hoping for but it's too late to change now. What do you think? Does it work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: thrifted
Dress: Anne Klein (consignment)
Sandals: Blondo
Handbag: Creazioni Alma (thrifted)
Watch: thrifted

I would probably not notice those sandals if I passed them in a store, but on your feet they are suddenly so cool. A classy outfit with a little boho flair; looks cool and comfy and even with the black, so summery and laid back.

Very pretty! I think I would like to see a darker wash jacket with this. Love the sandals with the dress!

I love it! It's my kind of outfit. :) I probably would have worn a different belt with it, but I do think it works. The handbag and sandals are so pretty together.

I especially love the light blue jacket with the navy dress. Great job!

I like it. I like the way you always seem to work some interesting texture into your looks with bags and shoes.

I like it too. Love that dress very pretty!

I think it works really well. The smeary sandals and light jean jacket help to give the darker dress an airier feel.

Such a pretty look and a fun change from the more usual pencil silhouette! Those sandals are turning out great for you. You could also wear the new white ones with a white or silver belt for a change.

Love the pretty full skirt with the sandals, bag, and faded urban denim. Delicious mix!

I have been running and up and down stairs this morning and these sandals are just amazing! So glad we are able to find pretty and interesting footwear that is extremely comfortable.

Suz - do you remember that wide silver laser cut leather belt I have? It looks fab over this dress and would bookend great with my new silver & white sandals - thanks for the great suggestion :)

Angie - I always call this my June Cleaver dress because it reminds me of something she would have worn on Leave It To Beaver - very 1950's. I'm thinking you need to get a soft pastel blue crash helmut to add to your collection - it's a smashing color on you!

Thanks everyone for your comments and "tweaking" suggestions - much appreciated :)

Fit and flare dresses always remind me of June Cleaver too, Shannon! I love this one on you. The faded denim jacket takes it over the top!

MaryK - thank you so much! I think you need a June Cleaver dress too...

Karie - there's something just so girly about wearing this shape. It makes me feel very feminine.

bj1111 - this shape of skirt is quite liberating - very comfortable and I love the way it moves when I walk.

Angie - oh my...thank you so much :) And I see you popped out and got a blue crash helmut - lol!
