K/R Eileen Fisher Metallic Knit Wedge Top

The petite medium Eileen Fisher metallic knit wedge top that I ordered from Nordstrom was waiting for me when I got home today. I popped it on and quickly took a couple of pics to show you. I do kind of wish I had ordered the petite large for more slouch, but it is no longer available - in fact, no other size other than X-Large and Plus size are available.

I'm kinda digging it and really like how it bookends the silver straps of my new bone sandal-shoes.

What do you think? Keep or return?

P.S. I don't know WHAT the heck is with the angle of that first pic - I look ginormous!

I am a sucker for anything silver, and it does look lovely on you, so I say keep.  It would look great with full skirts too if you wear them.

    LOVE. KEEP. Shiny :)

Shannon, I think I like this:)  It's one of those items that maybe doesn't photograph as well as it looks in real life.  I suspect the detail of the weave of the knit etc looks quite luxe in real life.

I like the fit on you and it has really made me fall in love with your sandals!!
I love it with the jeans and the black shorts in particular.  I could see this with slim ankle pants (or what about your slouchy black pants) and the sandles... so sleek.

Sorry getting distracted... I think you should keep.  And given your current health program I am thinking that the this size will continue to work for you whereas the petitie large may well end up being too big and slouchy.

    Love it with the sandals!

I love it at the front but it looks too small at the back but it may just be the pic because I don't know why it would seem big enough at the front if it actually was too small. I love the top & almost bought it for myself when I tried it on. I wasn't sure if it was me & didn't want to spend that much if it wasn't or if it was just for work as I was thinking.

Yummy! Quite different for your style, but FABULOUS! Love it with the new silver and white sandals! I like the lack of slouch for a change :)

    I vote keep.

I love it! Looks fab on you especially with the sandals.

  • Thistle replied 10 years ago

Oooh, shiny!! I really do love it for you even without the slouch! Would look fab with silver sandals!

I love it as is! I'm so glad you ordered it. I was hoping to find it in store a while back but never did... and never ordered it, either. It looks great on you!

I love this top - but is it pulling across your hips in the back?

  • Lyn D. replied 10 years ago

    Nice!
I am not a skirt person, but I like it with the skirt too.

Elle & Marley - I realize it does look too small across the back and hips but part of that is the way the shirt is shaped. It is called a wedge top because it is indeed that. When you hold it up on the hanger, the top is somewhat shaped like an inverted triangle and the band around the bottom of the top is a fair bit narrower than the rest of the top. That shape plus the weight of the knit causes the top to gather in some spots and drape in others. I did realize after the pics that I did not have the top on quite right and needed to pull the front down a bit as the top had slid back some. Plus it is over top of bulkier jeans with belt loops, etc. That having been said, it is a little snugger in the back than I would have liked and is a small concern of mine. However sizing up is not an option because it is sold out. The rest of the back of the top is not snug, just the bottom band portion.

Angie - do you think the size is ok? or is the fit at the back a deal breaker?

This is indeed quite different for me but I will admit I really, really like it. I love the way the fabric feels both to the touch and on the body and it is incredibly comfortable. I also adore how it works with my new sandals. But I don't want to keep it if it is unflattering.

I think it looks fantastic on you Shannon... and with the sandals...and loving it w the skirt...and with your flashing smile... keep

  • Runcarla replied 10 years ago

Like! It matches with your new shoes....how cool is that? Try with white bottoms, please!

I am a sucker for the pewter or duller silver metallics so I would have to say KEEP.  I also think it looks very nice on you and works well with the blue.

  • Firecracker (Sharan) replied 10 years ago

I vote keep! Gorgeous top on you, and I love how you've styled it with these bottoms. I had the same slight hesitation as Elle about the fit on the back, but I also thought it could be just fine in real life. Your explanation about rearranging it a little from front to back makes sense, and I love, love how it looks with the black shorts/capris and the blue skirt. I think a larger size would be less flattering.

Thank you for the feedback ladies - tags are off and I'm looking forward to wearing my first metallic item :)

I think it would look great semi tucked with my white BF jeans too - don't you?

  • Astrid replied 10 years ago

Glad you're keeping it, it's a nice addition to your wardrobe. I think it would look fantastic with white BF jeans - now I want to see! :)

  • Eliza replied 10 years ago

Very nice look and particularly fun with the new shoes. I bet it would play well with pants in a lighter fabrication or ponte knits that are "smooth" also. If you like it and are comfortable in it, this piece could do a lot of work for you. With showier items, I find they really have to feel like me when I put them on or else they sit, waiting for the "right" moment.

    Great find!

I think it looks really fun and interesting!

  • Archer replied 10 years ago

Gorgeous, especially love it with the blue skirt. Sandal strap makes it Homicidal!

  • ruthe replied 10 years ago

I am so glad you cut off the tags. This top looks luscious on you and I bet the feel is outstanding. When you were describing the top you said "I will admit I really, really like it. I love the way the fabric feels
both to the touch and on the body and it is incredibly comfortable." TS, enough said! :)

  • shedev replied 10 years ago

Love it with the blue skirt. And what Ruthe said.

  • Diana replied 10 years ago

Fab!  So glad you are keeping.

  • Joy replied 10 years ago

I'm so glad that you kept this. It is a beautiful top and will be stunning with white bottoms.

  • rae replied 10 years ago

    Keep!
