WIW: Cobalt & Black for spring

There's definitely a hint of spring in the air - the sun is warmer on my face, the birds are getting louder, and the days are getting longer. Love it!

So to celebrate this change in weather, I put away my black fishnets and today wore nude fishnets to mimic bare legs. I've added my black and cobalt colour-blocked skirt, my black asymmetrical ruched tank and topped it with my cobalt asymmetrical zipped jacket. For footwear, I popped on my trusty Clarks criss-cross Mary-Jane pumps. My handbag is my yellow/cobalt clutch.

I'm feeling pretty good in this outfit and hope it looks good too. As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Vince Camuto
Tank: Attitude by Jay Manuel
Skirt: Jones New York
Fishnets: Hue
Shoes: Clarks
Clutch: Trouve

Gorgeous. Cobalt looks smashing on you!

I really love how the band on the skirt is picked up by your jacket. Lovely -- I can't wait for spring either!

Oh I love this color combo and it looks fantastic on you! The brightness of the blue looks great with your skin tone. The blue on the skirt and the blue jacket match so perfectly.

I just love Mary Jane pumps, and yours are very pretty. Aren't Clarks comfy? My fussy feet love them.

Wow, I think this is one of my favorite outfits of your's, Shannon! I am a sucker for black and cobalt, so that always gets me. But the graphic lines on the blazer and skirt go oh so well with your slight curves....it's perfection!

You look terrific, Shannon! Gorgeous outfit. And every time you wear those shoes I am impressed. They are very flattering. There is a real magic in a V shaped vamp or strap, even if the vamp is high. It's elongating no matter what!

So sophisticated! Good for you on the nude fishnets - it's a subtle hint to Spring to hurry up and get here already!

Oooh, the jacket is fantastic. I love the cobalt blue with the yellow clutch. Very NICE Shannon! The proportions are absolutely perfect.

Signs of spring are cropping up here too. We've had two solid days of rain which melted the 6 inches of snow. So it's just gray and sloppy (but above freezing!)

    Fab fab fab.

The lamp in the background compliments your outfit beautifully, btw :-)

Looking great as usual! That jacket is gorgeous, is it new? You certainly get lots of use out of that awesome yellow clutch.

Nude hose and shoes instead of booties? It must be spring. You look fab Shannon and I could have sworn you were wearing a sheath dress. You look amazing in black and cobalt and that silhouette. Everything looks perfect together and that cobalt zipper on your bag is just the cherry on top for me. ;)

Maybe I got a bit carried away thinking Spring was here - just heard on the news that they're predicting more snow tonight...poop.

Pil - this jacket was a Christmas present from my hubby. I love everything about it.

Karie - I adore the comfort of Clarks. I have a couple of pairs and not only are they extremely comfortable, they last forever - very well made.

    Thank you ladies!

Lovely as ever Shannon. You can really rock cobalt and black. I'm jealous that you can wear nude fishnets, it's freezing cold here at the moment. I covet those shoes btw :)

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

    Yeah! More cobalt to copy!

Love the jacket, particularly. You're DH took care to pick it out and he did an amazing job!

I'm so wanting spring, but it's really only going to be however just above freezing this week, and its still raining over the old snow. Sigh.

BTW --- will those sleeves scrunch? For some reason, I'd like to see the forearms to "go" with the nude legs.

    Yey, so pretty!

I wore a combo of cobalt and black over the weekend, after being so inspired by Tina.b. Now, I am totally doing one up for work tomorrow, based on this fab outfit.

( I ditched my boots today too... I'm done)

    (Cobalt is in the air!)

So fantastic Shannon, one of my favourites for you. You wear a skirt so well! Love the cobalt jacket and the balance you create with the striped hem of the skirt. And the accessorizing just elevates this with the yellow clutch and the fab shoes. Love this!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Love it!! I can't keep my eyes off those shoes, too!

  • Elizabeth P replied 11 years ago

Oh yeah. This is spectacular! That jacket is amazing. Good luck with that snow ... I'm having a hard time believing I'll ever be able to wear shoes out side again...

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

Ooh, matchy but simple - I love this on you, Shannon! It's nicely blocked and the color just pops!

  • jayne replied 11 years ago

That must be your color, you look sooo good in cobalt. Nice to see demo of how to use one of those jackets. you inspire!

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

Oh, the pieces go so well together, as if you bought it as a set. Also, I like how the straps in your shoes mimic the black trim of the jacket.

I'm in luv with everything cobalt right now so this outfit gets a big thumbs up. YLF!
