WIW: Pink for Spring

I decided today was the day to bring out my pink blazer from its winter hiatus. This outfit did not photograph particularly well and does look better IRL. And excuse the blouse pulling a bit in the second pic - it's just because my hand on my hip was pulling it. It's not gaping otherwise.

I paired my pink blazer with my black/white houndstooth drapey blouse and my tweed front slouchy trousers. For footwear, I've popped on my Doc Marcie boots (shout out to Rae!) and my handbag is my simple black/white leather one.

What do you think? Does this work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Blazer: Jacob
Blouse: Vince Camuto
Trousers: Sears
Boots: Doc Martens
Handbag: Danier Leather (thrifted)

I like it! The shirt and pants look very scholarly and then the jacket just makes it fun! A good combo of serious and fun. Great purse, love the B&W and graphic lines.

It so does work. I especially love this style of trousers on you.

Btw, I'm so happy to see that blouse in action. I remember a lot of people bought it at NAS, but I can also recall very few WIWs featuring it.

I missed you pink blazer :)

This looks like a perfect transitional winter-to-spring outfit. I waffled over getting that blouse at NAS and didn't but wish my closet had one. Pretty in pink...(someone had to say it)

All the elements work nicely here. I really like your houndstooth blouse, the drape is perfect. Here comes Spring!

Yes it works! And more than this, it looks very fab. Purse addition is genius here. And that shade of pink suits you so well too!

I think that is perfect for spring -- the black and white with a bold hit of saturated colour.

How tall is the heel on the Marcies? I am always so tempted but I think it is just too high for me.

You look pretty in pink and I really like the repetition of the stripe in the trousers (which I always love you in) and the blouse!

Lovely shade of pink on you and a perfect transitional outfit. Echoing the others saying how lovely the black and whites work from your bag to shirt and boots. Fab.

You are a Pink Spring Delight! I adore the way the tuxedo stripe on the trousers is partying with the houndstooth :)

Ornella - for some reason, I don't reach for this blouse nearly as much as I thought I would. I'm not sure why though. And you're right, we don't see it very often on the forum.

Ceit - the heel on the Marcie's is 3" but with a 1/2 inch platform under the front of the foot, so really only 2.5". They are extremely comfortable for this height - I have walked and shopped in these all day with no problem. I actually find the footbed of these Docs more comfortable than my Sara and Danielle Docs.

Thank you for the lovely comments all - it is nice to be wearing a spring colour today, especially since it has started snowing again and it was -20 this morning (uggghhh...)

This is fantastic, Shannon - love the trousers with the pink, keeping it from being too stark with that warm tweedy goodness.

... and she scores! I love the color with the graphic print and the b/w texture. Very nice indeed! Marking as one of my favorites now.

I really like how the print mixed with the brights and the black trim take me back to the late 80's (in a very good way). I love this.
