WIW: Casual Shannon Gets Groceries

I'm going to try and post more WIW from weekends - you always see me in my work outfits but I rarely post what I'm wearing at home or running errands on the weekend.

I'm just about to head out to pick up some groceries and go pick up my MIL who is staying with us for the weekend (she comes every third weekend to give my SIL a break and we can have some one-on-one time with her).

The outfit is simple - my favourite slim BF jeans, a chunky Fisherman knit cowl neck pullover, cognac belt, black Chelsea boots, rose gold/black watch, two-tone cognac handbag and over top when I head out the door, my short citron puffer. Oh yeah - and no make up. I like to go without from time to time to give my skin a bit of a "breather". It's a lovely day here today - bright and sunny with crisp white snow and clear blue sky.

So nothing fancy but hopefully still stylish - catch ya later :)

Pullover: Nygard (thrifted)
Jeans: Ralph Lauren Skinny BF's
Belt: Danier Leather
Boots: Clarks
Puffer: Esprit
Watch: Fossil (eBay)

You make the puffer look so dressy and put-together! I always admire your outfits here. I wish I looked this stylish when I went grocery shopping! I like the bag.

Re: make-up. I am one of the few who doesn't wear it everyday. I love no make-up. I suppose I'm weird this way.

Great outfit! I really love that jacket! I cycle a lot and I can see a jacket like that being handy to keep me warm AND visible.

I also don't rarely wear makeup on weekends, and even on weekdays I'll only put on my 'full face' if I have somewhere special to go.

You look sensational! I love that citron puffer on you, and with the red specs it's even more fun. What a great sweater, too.

And what a great DIL. I have been meaning to ask how things are going with MIL and all associated elder issues. I know this has been a toughie.

Yay, Shannon! That's a fab casual outfit and the color of the jacket is such a happy one!
It's great that you posted your casual side as we had only seen the dressy one and both are fab.

Love your jacket - great running around piece and the colour of it lets you get away with a no-makeup look and still feel put together .  And it is indeed a nice day !

What a cosy looking jumper and that puffer is the perfect colour to cheer up a drab winter day x

Comfy cozy cool! You look great! I'm loving your hair too; seems it's growing out a bit (I like it short and growing both). Thanks for sharing your casual looks :)

You look terrific, Shannon!  This is worthy of a weekend movie, or casual lunch --- you look ready to have fun, too!

Nothing fancy alright, UNTIL THE BRIGHT PUFFER!!! That's the sign of a good dresser. Someone who can take that one special thing and use it to make
    "nothing fancy" into something FAB.

The citron puffer makes everything special. YLF.

Just finished a lovely homemade dinner of sausage and peppers with gluten free pasta with a lovely red Pinot Noir and heading into a family game of Scrabble. MIL is having a fabulously lucid day and we are having a wonderful day :)

Thanks so much for your comments - this citron puffer was a wildcard purchase about 2 years ago and it has been an absolute favorite winter item.

Ok..gotta run...see if I can beat my writer husband in Scrabble!

Oh, WOW, do I love photo one, Shannon!  You are adorable, with and without makeup and I love seeing you in your casual weekend wear.  It's pulled together and fun and the citron topper brightens up your day as you go about your errands.  I want more Shannon-on-the-weekend posts!!!

I'm sure the bright colors help with winter blahs in January. Love seeing your more casual side. And I'm jealous you can pull off chunky sweaters like that. When one gets near me alarms go off ;)

  • Gigi replied 9 years ago

Oh, thanks for sharing a casual outfit! You look so good! The puffer just makes me smile from ear to ear. I get strongly attracted to citron in mid- to late winter. Yes, you are still definitely stylish. :)

  • Karie replied 9 years ago

Sweet sister! "Nothing fancy" and then you show us that puffer? It's total gorgeousness. You have a fantastic casual style, girlfriend!

  • deb replied 9 years ago

Shannon, you make me laugh. I applaud you for getting groceries. I only go to the grocery story when I am forced to.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

You look just as stylish in your casual wear as you do in your work wear:)  And I never doubted it.  And you look lovely with no make up.  You have really lovely skin Shannon and I nice natural glow.

  • Sharon replied 9 years ago

You look lovely without makeup. Great casual look.
