WIW: Black, White & Light Blue

I absolutely loved Angie's ensemble post for black, white & light blue and knew I could copy it with my pastel blue suit jacket.

So today's outfit started out with my light blue blazer - I've fallen out of love with the whole pastel blue suit and probably won't be sporting the jacket and pants together this spring/summer. But I love the jacket and hope it wear it a lot. I adore the polka dot lining, love the fit and the colour is such a nice change.

Underneath the jacket, I've got on my white wrap asymmetrical drapey tank. I bought the white and black tank from Danier and have found them to be incredible versatile layering pieces. So glad I picked them up.

I've paired the tank with my simple black knit pencil skirt, nude micro fishnets (not warm enough for bare legs yet) and black kitten heel pumps.

I chose my cobalt/cream/black quilted leather handbag - the cream and black echo the white and black in the outfit and I like the bright cobalt against the pale blue. I'm also wearing a necklace today (feeling the pull back to some of my jewelry) of a beautiful moonstone set in a simple silver setting.

Would love your feedback - how this combination works for me, tweaks for improvement, etc.

Thanks for keeping us inspired Angie :)

This is really a nice silhouette for you and you always rock B&W.  I always enjoy it when I see outfits that are a take on one of the ensembles but done in a way that is adapted to the wearer.

A really stylish and professional outfit that looks well coordinated. The colours and individual pieces are beautiful on you. Well done!!

This looks lovely on you. The blue jacket looks so fresh and summery. I love the drapey top, it adds texture and interest.

The lovely drape of the shirt, and the sophisticated colour palette result in one very elegant look. The cobalt is just a little jarring to my eye. Black would work, but maybe your yellow bag? Or a clutch style?

Oh miss Shannon, you look lovely :)
Beautiful outfit.I think you always find the best proportions for you and the way you draped the blouse is just perfect, flowy but not shortening.

Your frosted blue suit jacket is perfect item for Angie's ensamble! Wow! :-)

Ha Carla! I was thinking the same thing when I saw the picture but didn't have time to swap the bag out. I was thinking either my black patent clutch or my white clutch would work better than the cobalt bag.

Your pale blue suit works perfectly for Angie's pastel blue/black/white outfit formula. I could also see you wearing the suit skirt with the same white draped top and a black jacket, same shoes. The suit together would make a lovely Easter outfit.
I think your outfit really works well because your dark hair visually brings the darker bottom half of the outfit up, if that makes sense.

Shannon - this one's for the record book. I love you in a blazer, full stop. And that white top is super flattering and the perfect thing to wear under a jacket. Is this a new Danier piece (i.e. should I be running out to get one ? lol)   The only tweak I'd make is for a different bag, which you've already talked about.  Pale blue is gorgeous for you!

Joy - just to clarify, the suit jacket is actually part of a pant suit not a skirt suit. But I do hear what you're saying and might have to give that combination a try.

Lisa - thank you :) I have always been a blazer/jacket gal. To me, they are nothing short of magical in providing an outfit with presence and giving a body shape structure and curve all at the same time. I can't ever imagine my wardrobe without them. As for the Danier top, it was a clearance find a few months ago. I'm not sure if they still have but it wouldn't hurt to pop in the next time you're at the mall and checking the clearance rack. The top is actually ridiculously long on me (we're taking mid thigh) and is not truly an asymmetrical shape. But in order to bring the length up and give the top that shape, I just tuck a corner of the hem on the left hand side into the waistband of what ever I'm wearing, pull the top up a bit and voila, an asymmetrical top. It's very sheer (even with the cami) and only good for layering but works perfect with my jackets.

Gorgeous look today, Shannon!  I love the drama of the asymmetry in the white top.

I knew the blue suit would appear in this post somehow! Love it!

Such a beautiful combo, Shannon. The light blue jacket is very flattering and I adore the drape of the white blouse. I would also switch out the bag for something simpler, solid white or black.

The asymmetrical top make this classic jacket and skirt outfit modern.  I always think of you as someone who looks best in dark colors -- black, gem stone, etc.  Due to your coloring.  But you are proving to look beautiful in pale blue also.

This pale blue suit was such an incredible wild card for me last year - definitely not anywhere near my usual color palette. Just goes to show you never know!

Perfect. And the blazer is wonderful. What a fab color on you!

    Crisp, sharp and fresh.

    LOVE.

I love this - the top & jacket look great on you.

Love!! Especially with the bare legs :) I don't mind the cobalt bag, you've got enough contrast in the look that it works just fine to me. Of course a lighter (white, cream, or silver) would also work nicely. Do you still  like the way the trousers fit? I think this color combo is smashing on you, and if you still like the pants they're worth styling similarly (with a moto perhaps).
