WIW: Black, White & Green

Thought I'd wear some summer things just a few more times before it's too cold to do so. I started out with my black & white cowl neck Ikat print dress, popped my white denim jacket over top and then decided to play up the black in the dress and the white jacket by adding my Doc Sara black/white shoes. Then I added my black/white handbag and my chrome watch with white face for accessories. I though the Doc Sara's would be more fall-like than sandals.

What do you think? Does this all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

    Shannon I really enjoy your creativity:). I love this dress and the docs are an acquired taste in this ensemble (for conservative me anyway) but I think it does work. I am finding the white jacket a bit stark though, and I think I would prefer a darker non denim jacket as I think it would really tie the outfit together. I love the shoes and bag together, I enjoy a bit of matchy matchy...very nice:)

    I like the dress with the shoes! I need to bust my dress out this week some time too. I am in wool today as it was 5C this morning and only supposed to get to about 18C today.

    That dress was a super buy, Shannon. It's great for this transitional time. I love it with the Docs and that bag! Very clever.

    I see what Deb is saying about the starkness of the white but I suspect the flash exaggerates that effect a bit. I have noticed it in a few pics of my own white denim jacket.

    Perfect transitional outfit with the darker green/black and the brighter shoes and jacket.

    This season can be tough - cool mornings, warm afternoons - but you look great :-)

    Great outfit! Although I would say it is a fall outfit, not summer. It's still too warm here for jackets and closed toe shoes. I love the dress - the pattern is great and it's very flattering on youj.

    Personally, I really like the brightening effect of the white denim, whether or not the flash is exaggerating it. A very fun outfit.

    I am weird when it comes to white denim jackets after Labor day, especially if the weather is already turning, so I am not 100% in with it. I realize that's my personal bias. Regardless, I say this is another Shannon winner!

    Woohoo! Way to wear white after Labor Day and make it a killer transitional outfit to boot. Really love the green with the strong black/white contrast.

    Deborah - I agree that the white jacket isn't everyone's cuppa with the darker dress.

    Rita - I loved putting our twinnie dress into my closet yesterday when I was cleaning it. Looking forward to wearing it! Bet it looks super with your turquoise handbag.

    Zap - I used to have the no-white-after-Labour-Day phobia but it's like as soon as Angie said not to worry about that, I threw caution to the wind!

    Shannon, you look really nice. I've got to say, you're pushing two poison-eye buttons here for me with the white denim jacket and the popped collar - but I can objectively see how well this works as an ensemble, so good lesson for me!

    Celia - I definitely intend on wearing this dress right through winter with black tights and boots and one of my other blazers.
