Shoe Stretch Success

As you may recall, I was having an issue with my beloved cobalt blue Kate Spade pumps (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....oe-problem). I picked up a product called Stretch Genie and it worked like a charm. Comes with the leather softening spray liquid and these little stretching devices that can be widened and narrowed to suit your shoes.

Yay for success!

Where did you find Stretch Genie, Shannon?

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Oh, interesting! I haven't seen this product before. So glad it worked for you!

Is there anything we can't buy:) Excellent. I missed your earlier post but am glad this worked for you as they are just the most stunning shoes. My red pumps could do with a little 'stretch" might see if this product is available here.

Yay! I'm gonna have to try this on my two pair of too-tight Jessica Simpson pumps!

I bought it from a store in our local mall that sells products as advertised on TV - who knew?! I'm sure it's available online somewhere too.

My sister was tellling me about this, but I sort of dismissed it (she's always telling me about the great stuff on QVC, HSN, and those Seen on TV products). So, I'm glad to hear your firsthand experience - with patent leather much less!!

I have 2-3 pairs that I'd prefer my feet don't do the breaking in. . .

Oh, my sister shops Walgreens a lot, and they carry As Seen on TV stuff. Maybe they carry this too?

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

I googled it and Walgreen's does indeed seem to carry it in the stores. I ordered it from a seller on Amazon, but you could undoubtedly get it cheaper if you could find it in person.

So no more potato trick eh, Shannon? :-)

Those are such pretty shoes - glad it worked.

Cool!! So glad you won't miss wearing those lovely shoes.

    Hi Ladies
I've been a "closet" YLF'er for quite some time and I'm a Kiwi and my first ever post is to let Deborah know that Overland Shoes have a product that sounds like what Shannon used. It's called Stretch Spray and it's brilliant! It doesn't come with the little stretch thingies but (and this is for real, it's on the bottle) after you've sprayed the inside and outside of the leather (patent and reptile leather on the inside only) " apply pressure from the inside only with a strong teaspoon to the part that requires stretching". Then wear the shoes immediately after treating. I've had to toss a few teaspoons but it's come to the rescue for a number of pairs of my shoes!!

I intend to come out of the closet soon and show off my new spring/summer wardrobe that's been put together based on what I've learned from Angie and all of you on this forum - I can honestly say I've finally found my style and I'm loving it!

Thanks Shannon for sharing, ordered mine from Ebay :)

That's great Shannon, nothing worse than unhappy feet!
Welcome Kiwibird. and thanks for that info. I am in Australia and would like to try this product too. I wonder is it O.K. on suede?

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

I saw this at Bed Bath and Beyond last week and was curious. I've had minor success with Rae's rubbing alcohol trick, but recently have a pair of super cute shoes that are a bother to return so I'm thinking I might try this.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Hoping you all find the same success as I did and welcome Kiwibird - looking forward to seeing you on the forum!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Kiwibird, I can't message you until you become an active member I think so just wanted to say thank you for the info. I will see this product out... And I don't mind sacrificing a few spoons for comfy shoes ;)

  • replied 11 years ago

Shannon, did the inside of the shoe changed color at all? KS shoes are usually leather lined, right? Interesting product. I must google. Thanks for letting us know.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Zap - I don't think the inside changed colour but will have to double check to be sure. And yes, the KS shoes are leather lined.

  • rachylou replied 11 years ago

Oh that is good news! Shall have to look for this product.

This product is available at Bed Bath and Beyond for $9.99. I need new pillows so maybe I'll toss this in the cart at the same time!
