WIW: Aviators & Pale Blue

Today's outfit started with my Earhart Aviator trousers - comfortable, not traditionally flattering and full of volume. I paired the trousers with a simple black scoop neck tank, fully tucked with my black leather belt. Because of the volume these trousers create on the legs, I need to add an element of structure to my top half so as not to feel all frumpy - this is achieved here by both the fully tucked tank and the blazer. On top of the tank, I popped on my pale blue blazer (from my pastel blue suit) and scrunched the sleeves for even more structure. I'm debuting my new Clarks sandals (the replacements for the Fugitive sandal shoes). I love the high vamp on these because they can work to elongate my leg line when wearing black bottoms. I then chose my black patent fold-over clutch and purple/clear specs to finish the outfit. I'm digging the black and pale blue combination - it seems kind of unexpected, which I like.

I'm also falling back in love with some of my jewelry and am wearing a dainty necklace today that my hubby gave me for Christmas.

So what do you think? Does this all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Looking great and very Spring-like. I love your shoes as well. Clarks is making nice shoes these days.

Way to remix your beautiful blue blazer! More shoe love from me. Your snow must finally be gone if you are wearing sandals these days.

I can hardly believe this is the jacket from your great pastel suit - such a different vibe. I love this one just as much though!

I love the pale blue jacket with black - it looks crisp and soft at the same time. This is one of your best outfits yet.

What a great remix of the suit, Shannon.  Loving the drapey trouser silhouette on you.  It's perfect paired with a structured jacket.

Shoes look great -- a blend of feminine and modern.

Joyce - I was actually quite impressed with the Clarks spring line this year. Some good looking AND comfortable choices.

Windchime - not only is our snow all gone, the grass is starting to green up, my day lilies have popped up out of the ground and it's going up to +21 Celcius on the weekend. I'm a happy gal :)

Shevia - isn't it interesting how a piece can look different depending on what it is paired with?

    missvee - thank you :)

Beth Ann - I can honestly say I think these aviator trousers are my favorite trousers EVER! I love the way they look and they are oh so comfy.

Harmonica - I can already tell these Clarks sandals are going to be worn a ton.

    Thanks ladies :)

Lovely as always, Shannon.  Great colour combo - unexpected and fresh!

From your title I was hoping to find that you were wearing something from the baby blue suit and was thrilled to see this beautiful combination. I think it all works together. The power and versatility of a column of black? I especially like the soft black and skin reveal of the Clarks with this outfit.

Ooh, the blue suit jacket over a column of black, so lovely. Looking good.

Fab!!! I'm not usually a fan of pastels with black, but you're so well put together it really works. Love the light blue with your hair!

  • Thistle replied 4 years ago

Love, love, love!  It looks so very fab, and I love the suit remix. It has a totally different vibe, and is working exactly as you planned it to work!

As fresh and crisp as a daisy with sorbet. Fabulous. xo

    Fabulous

  • Suz replied 4 years ago

This is just lovely on you, Shannon. Hope the new sandals pass the comfort test!

  • Karina replied 4 years ago

Great look! You are right about the sandals keeping the leg line longer and wow, that blazer is a perfect fit. Love it!

  • Parsley replied 4 years ago

    Super outfit, Shannon!
It's good to see how well the suit jacket plays with other pieces, and I think it works well to balance the more voluminous pants.
How are the sandals working out?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 4 years ago

Don't you hate it when a busy day gets in the way of your YLF time - LOL!

Joy & Diane - that whole "column of color" thing is brilliant isn't it?

Dana - I think this shade of blue almost has a silvery tone to it which is why it works so well with my hair - 'cause it has a silvery tone of its own!

Thistle - I have the feeling that this pastel suit eBay find is gonna turn out to be a good purchase.

Angie - oooohhh...I love BOTH daisies and sorbet :)

Karina - can you believe I found the pastel suit (jacket and pants) off eBay and it fits beautifully. So lucky!

Suz & Marcy - I have done a fair bit of running around at work today and haven't had a moment of discomfort from the new sandals. YAY for happy feet :)

  • Aida replied 4 years ago

Very nice! It's like a softer black+white but equally graphic. Those sandals look perfectly paired with slouchy trousers.

Shannon, that cut of the blazer is amazing on you! Colour works so well on you too! How were the clarks after a full days wear?

  • catgirl replied 4 years ago

I think I like this even more as a separate!  Fab look and the pop of lipstick is great.

  • Sveta replied 4 years ago

I think it all works together beautifully -and yay for the happy feet!
I am seriously considering these sandals too...
