WIW: Army Lace

These dark olive green cargo pants always remind me of the Army - I remember when I was about 16, I went to the Army Surplus store and bought a pair of men's cargo pants and wore them with a cinched belt to keep them up - loved those pants.

Today I've paired my cargo pants with a semi tucked black lace tee. I love the pairing of black and olive. I chose my black heeled sandals (gotta wear sandals while we still can!) for footwear and my large print clutch for handbag. I've been wearing these pants rolled lately in BF style but went for full length today for a change. Hopefully the amount of scrunch is ok.

When I step out the door, I'll pop on my faded mixed media denim jacket. It's a little cooler in the mornings now and sometime I need a topper until I get to the office.

What are your thoughts on this outfit? All comments/suggestions welcome.

Jacket: Buffalo
Tee: Smart Set
Pants: Ricki's
Sandals: Clarks
Clutch: XOXO (thrifted)
Watch: Fossil

Love! Especially without the topper, although I do really like that jacket too. And I don't really like army pants at all, but these look perfect here. Amazing Shannon!

Lovely! I think the denim jacket is an unexpected topper here and does a great job of lightening the outfit. I don't mind the scrunch on the pants :)

Stunning. I love the shape of those pants and the overall silhouette is superb. I cannot believe you thrifted that awesome clutch! And the sandals are perfect with this outfit. I think this is killer!

Love this, I love the mix of the army green and lace. A little edgy, fun look.

Love this, especially without the topper. Fun outfit because even the shoes are a bit "lacy" IRL with the tiny perforations/ cutouts.

What a great combo Shannon! The scrunching works just fine and I like the bag and topper.

Love it all too !  Especially the jacket - nice:)  I am an active army-pants wearer too - they are so versatile, as you have successfully shown here.  Wonderful ensemble.

LOVE THIS!  I am a sucker for some army green pants, and I love how you've styled yours here!  And I am envious of your fun casual office dress code!

I really love this effortless, deceptively simple combination of basics... I like the pants full length and tonal with the shoes, making them wear like cut out booties rather than sandals; and I love the subtle mirroring of the snakeskin purse pattern and and texture by the slight acid wash effect on the jacket and leather sleeves.

And I don't think I ever would have thought "those sandals, that jacket, that purse". Even the item picture in #5 doesn't really capture how these work worn together, IMO.

I really like the lace with the cargo pants as it keeps them from being too "army." I've been looking for new ways to wear my cargo pants so I'll have to keep this in mind. I like the idea of making them more feminine. Great outfit overall!

Fabulous and the vest lightens the look.

Shannon, I just want to have you style me for a week, okay? I love everything you come up with. The olive and black just sing to me, and I love the lacy tee with the cargos. The sleek sandals, edgy jacket, and snakeskin clutch are perfect accompaniments.

And, she does it again!  Shannon this is so inspirational... how you took really basic peices, cargo pants and a tee, and made them look SO GOOD.  The fit of the pants, combined with the lace, and the feminine sandals... just love it.  Then throw on that awesome jacket.  Wowzers.  Yet So Freaking Simple.

First of all, my apologies for getting back to my thread so late - it's been an insanely busy day.

And WOW - what responses to come back to :) I must admit I'm a little taken aback by your lovely comments.

Mary - it's because of your fab stylings with your green cargo pants that I actually bought these ones - thank you for your inspiration.

Jules - it is an unexpected combo isn't it? I also really like how the pants full length give the sandals the look of cut out booties - great eye!

    Firecracker - oh my :)

Angie - I'm speechless. Thank you.
