WIW: Blue & Pewter

Good morning my lovely Fabbers - happy Autumn :)

Today's outfit started with my blue EF drape front dress, which is what I would call a "true blue". On top of that I added my navy blue lace moto (with scrunched sleeves). I like how the two different blues play together. For footwear, I went with my pewter wedge peep toe pumps to play off the colour of the zipper on the moto. For accessories, I chose my olive/cobalt clutch (my third shade of blue) and a chunky pewter bracelet to continue the pewter metallic in the outfit. To finish things off, I popped on my silver wedding band, red specs and a swipe of Berry shade lipstick.

The weather is unpredictable these days - one rainy cold day, followed by a sunny warmer day. But the nights and early mornings are definitely on the chilly side now. Time to start the season transitional style of dressing I guess - which to me means an outfit that looks complete both with and without a topper since that has the potential to come off and on throughout the day.

So what do you think? Does this all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

I think it works beautifully! Great mix of blue tones, and the addition of olive and pewter keeps the outfit in fall transition mode. I love this on you - very Shannon-y.

Very elegant outfit to welcome the changing season! Your pewter bracelet is fab, and I love the pop of warmth your clutch lends to the blue color scheme.

This EF dress is a beautiful color on you Shannon and I love it paired with navy lace. Inspired!

That navy lace bomber is one of my favourite pieces on you. Lovely with your EF dress.

I love these two pieces together and the variation in blues is lovely. Shannon the only thing that gives me pause here is the short sleeve on the dress showing through the jacket. It's just one of my little "things" but I would prefer a sleeveless dress under the jacket. However it's quite likely it's not something anyone else would be concerned with or notice. It is a lovely combination and the blues are really incredibly stunning on you.

This works. You look beautiful in those deep blues and the lace bomber shape takes the formality out of the lace.
Please send some fall temperatures this way. We are still in summer heat and humidity trying to keep cool.

This is stunning Shannon and very inspirational. Now I can't wait to get that lace jacket.

The navy lace bomber comes through again! I love the combination of the blues.

Nice combo of blues. I wouldn't have thought of that myself, but it totally works.

Love that dress every time you wear it :). And I like the thought process too. An outfit that looks good with or without the topper. Perfect

    Nice pairing of blues.

Debbie - I totally thought of you when getting dressed this morning. You will love having a lace jacket :)

Deborah - I completely agree - the dress sleeves are not the best for peeking out with the lace sleeves. I would also prefer sleeveless or full sleeves so there isn't that break in the arm. Oh well...

Thanks for the lovely comments ladies :)

Perfect! Love that bag and dress each time you post it :)

And you're right, the trick now is to dress with layers that work for these up and down , rain and sun temps. I'm madly sorting through my early fall stuff trying to get some things organized to wear.

I really love the jacket - it is fab on you, really fab.
I have the same "thing" as Deborah about short sleeves under see-through. Would a long-sleeved blue top under the dress work? If it doesn't bother you please ignore :)

Such a great outfit.  I love both the dress and the jacket, separately, and together, they are divine!

The two blues play very nicely together. I like the addition of the pewter shoes and olive clutch. Gorgeous!

Love this sophisticated combo - the sleeves are the only issue I see. You are so creative with the EF pieces!
