WIW: White After Labour Day

Today's outfit started with my white BF jeans - I feel like such a rebel wearing white jeans after Labour Day - lol!

To the jeans I added my cream/animal print mixed media blouse, semi tucked with a tan leather belt. For footwear, I went with my sand suede Toms wedge booties - this helps to pull out the sand tones in the blouse. I then decided to wear my vintage Cartier dark red leather handbag for a pop of unexpected colour. Rose gold/black watch, gold wedding ring, red specs and a swipe of red lipstick finish off the outfit.

Thoughts? Feedback? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Wow Shannon this outfit is gourgegous on you! I love the pop of red in the handbag. I can't wait until its cool enough here in Ottawa for sweaters and booties. Today will be 40 degrees with the humity so still wearing ( and oh so bored with ) the summer wardrobe.

This IS gorgeous on you Shannon.  I'm also wearing white BF jeans, but with my Mephistos and a tee... it's going to be low 30's today.  I swear, our best summer weather is in Sept, as the humidity drops off.  Not that we get a ton, but still.

This is interesting. I like the top with those jeans. If it weren't for your hair, the booties might look a little out of place--unless it is the lighting? Colours are hard to judge on-screen. Love the pop of red with the purse.Livens everything right up--as does that gorgeous shade of lipstick on you. Red, tan and white is a fab colour combo.

I almost envy your temps. We're sitting at 8 as I type this. It is supposed to warm up to 21 later today.

Very nice look, Shannon. Like how the dark red sets off your gorgeous combination of neutrals.

I love how the animal print top really makes a simple white on white outfit into something more exciting here.  I agree with Diane that the specs and bag work really well together too.

This is stunning on you. The top reminds me of the DVF sweater that Angie and I have. It's such a pretty palette. This year's version of your pink-with-leopard print skirt?

  • Zibbets replied 9 years ago

Absolutely stunning! This is an inspiration combo for me since I have some similar pieces but have never tried them together. Thank you!

This is great - I love those Toms booties!  Really great way to pull the top and bottom together.  And your red accents are bang on . You nailed it again today!

btw - nice vintage red bag (red leather gets better with age , doesn't it?)

I love it!! The handbag is lovely too!

Go team "Wear white after Labor Day!" I love the pops of red color.

Lovely soft colors paired here with the white.  I'm also trying to sport my white jeans as often as I can before our weather gets wet and messy, particularly my bootcuts which cannot handle our snowy winters.

Shannon, this outfit looks great on you! I love how you've managed to skew the white and neutral tones toward Fall with your booties and the pops of red. (I do like that shade of lippy, as I'm sure I've commented before.) Your bag is gorgeous. Hooray for wearing white after Labour Day! You do it so well.

I'm wondering if you experimented with rolling your jeans once more to show the tops of your booties and a bit of ankle. No critique at all here. I like them at full length. I'm just curious.

Hope you have a good Friday.

Shannon - high five for white jeans today! I adore the animal print with the white jeans, the sand bookending and the ultra fab combo of red bag and specs. I bow you you, master of outfit creations.

Nice outfit!!! How late into the fall / winter do you continue to wear white for?

Where I live, people seem to wear white year round, so I guess the no white after labour day doesn't apply to my state or people here don't listen to that rule.

I'm late to comment but wanted to add that this is an amazing outfit on you. Truly. The color on the sweater and the pants makes your arms and legs look long and lean. Your shoulders look perfectly proportioned and the shade of the whites/creams are perfect for your coloring. All the little details that you added to the outfit look wonderful. I hope it becomes one of your favorites because it is really great! The purse and red lipstick...just great.
