WIW: A little houndstooth and a little python

Got my SE python booties yesterday and couldn't wait to wear them. I'm not sure this is the best pairing but I think it works and I'll have more time to play with them later - I just couldn't wait, you know?

Today's outfit, along with the gorgeous booties, includes my slim cigarette-type trousers and black/white houndstooth blouse. Accessories are simple with my red quilted handbag, and a couple of rings.

What do you think? Does it all work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

    It definitely works well, Shannon. The new boots are lovely, and paired with the red bag, give the B&W outfit some flair!

    I don't think you had to worry about the boots - they look just great on you! Love the houndstooth blouse also.

    Great boots! I'm glad they worked out for you. This outfit is a good first outing for them as it does a good job of showing them off.

    Those booties are really gorgeous! I think your're right, you won't have to worry about bookending with these, there's just enough black in them. I really like this outfit, I think it totally works. Can't wait to see what you pair them with next!

    Shannon, I think we are on the same wavelength today as I am also wearing my python booties, black skinny trousers and black and white striped oversized shirt.:-)

    How do the booties fit? You ordered the larger of your two sizes, right? That makes me sad since the larger of MY two sizes is no longer available....alas....

    Suz - I wear a 6 in Clarks and Docs and a 6.5 in everything else. I ordered these in the 6.5 and they are perfect.

    Joy - yes, the shirt is from NAS and I'm very happy with it.

    Hmm. Yes, that was my worry, Shannon. I take a 6.5 or 7. I think I would need the 7 in these if you took 6.5.

    Ah well. I did get my Stuart Weitzman's after all!

    Una - yes strangely enough, this was the first outfit idea that popped into my head when I put the booties on out of the box last night. And I have NO IDEA why!!!

    Oh Shannon, the booties really are perfection on you!! And I love this entire outfit, fabulous silhouette on you. The houndstooth blouse is brilliant with the black pants and the python print, and the splash of red makes me happy.

    I love the pattern mixing but most of all I love the addition of red to a black and white ensemble. I must get a red bag, however all I'm finding is more black bags.

    I am clearly missing out on the python boot trend. I want a pair now. Love the playfulness of the shirt -- the graphic lines play really nicely with the pop of red and the boots are a unexpected organic element. You go!
