What I Wore; What I Bought; What was Delivered

Went shopping with MIL today and had a wonderful time. We both bought clothes (everything on sale mind you) and then had sushi for lunch. MIL's first time eating sushi - seemed to like it!

Had several places to go while out shopping (some mundane errands thrown in the mix) so went with comfort all the way. Started with my gold flats (my most comfy shoes EVER) and paired them with my white bermuda shorts and hi-low floral tee. Popped on my orange leather handbag for another colour and away we went. How's the outfit? Proportions and mix ok?

While out, we went into BCBGMAXAZRIA. Normally their clothes are out of my budget but I always have a look at the sale rack. There was a beautiful two-tones blue wrap dress with long sleeves looking very lonely on the rack, as it was the last one. It was my size so thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. Well I fell in love - hard! This is not posted as a Keep/Return for two reasons: 1) final sale so cannot be returned; 2) I love it!

Then my MIL wanted to look in Cleo and I spied this taupe/mushroom ponte knit faux tiered pencil skirt. Not exciting but a fabulous little staple and I've been wanting some fall/winter pencil skirts in colours other than black and grey. It fit perfectly so it also came home with me. I've popped it on here with a purple ruffled sleeveless blouse I already had and my Jeffrey Campbell three-toned oxfords. Probably not the best styling, but hopefully you get the idea. I think this is a keeper - yes?

Then once we got home, I changed into my grubbies to do a bit of yard work and literally just zipped up the cut offs when the doorbell range and there was the handsome and always popular UPS delivery man with my Blondo Vergara boots (one of Angie's picks). You'll have to excuse the outfit I'm wearing with the boots but I could not wait to try them on. They fit perfectly, are ridiculously comfortable and are beautiful. I was very worried they would be too tall in the shaft but they are not. My only tiny issue is that on my left knee (my bad knee) I have swelling on the inside of the knee that the boot pushes up a bit. It's not uncomfortable at all but may make the boot look a bit tight. But I'm not going to worry about it. Again, I think these are keepers - yes?

Thanks for looking and as always, all comments/suggestions welcome!

That is a Shannon dress, for sure! What a great find. I think the boots look super and your shopping outfit looks cute and cool for a summer day.

What a fun and productive shopping day for you! Wow - great things. I love the blue dress on you, and the new skirt looks perfect - I like it with that purple top and those shoes. The boots look awesome too.

Wow, another day of amazing finds!!! I LOVE the blue dress on you! It is amazing!!! (is that enough exclamation points?) It's really gorgeous. The skirt is perfect, too. I love it with the top you have on in the picture. I'm super jealous of your cool boots, too. Those took awhile to come! I think every one of your NAS purchases are great! (you might want to skip next years NAS--you might be pushing your luck after a perfect year this year! lol)

Anyway, I love everything you got.

Shannon, you have some small god of shopping looking over your shoulder and whispering in your ear! Great things, that look great on you.

What a day! I just love going virtual shopping with you, almost as much as I would love in-person shopping with you! Wow.

I am TOTALLY in love with that dress on you. It is stunning! What a keeper. Can't wait to see it styled with various toppers and footwear.

I also LOVE the little skirt and may just have to go to Cleo to see if they have one like it for me. I really need a bottom in that colour family and this one looks taupey enough that it would work!

As for the boots, they look absolutely divine from what I can see. Gorgeous!!

Also to add -- I saw that skirt in the window but now I want to try it on!

Everything looks good here, the wiw, the dress, the skirt, the boots. Those boots especially are making me wonder about visiting Nordies website :)

Woohoo those Blondos are HooOoT on you, No need for a K/R! They stand nice and tall. I'm sorry about the knee boo boo;(
I love the rest of the haul. That blue dress is to die for.

  • Parsley replied 11 years ago

I'd say you had a VERY successful day!
That dress looks great on you! I have the same dress in black/tan, and I love it, too. It's very flattering (note to self to wear it more!)

The skirt is a winner, too, and I'm sure will be a versatile piece in that neutral color. I love the tapered shape.

I'm having a harder time seeing the boots on my monitor, but what I can see looks good. Are those the ones with the fabric tops?

    Great finds!

I can barely comment on anything else because I saw the thumbnail of that dress on you and can't get past it. Fab, fab, fab!

Oh yeah, and the boots look good too. :-)

    Magical day :)

    OMG.

    THAT DRESS!!!

    TDF.

    (Sorry for overexcitement :-) )

Suz & Ceit - you have to go and try on this Cleo skirt. It's a nice weight ponte knit, pull on skirt with a fairly wide waistband. Very comfortable. it is unlined unfortunately but you can't have everything! If it came in other colours, I would have bought them too.

Parsley - yes, these are the Blondo boots with the fabric top. Very comfortable.

Angie - that's a lot of killer (lol)!

Ornella - no need to apologize for over excitement. You should have heard me squeal (yes...literally out loud) when I put the dress on!!!

Thanks everyone. MIL also bought pants and two tops from Cleo but she's too shy to model them for YLF. Maybe next time :)

As always, you have the BEST luck with dresses! The tiered skirt is amazing, too.

And the BOOTS! They look like they were made for you. Wow. What an amazing day with the MIL!

#4&5 are fantastic! The fit on the boots is amazingly perfect. Boy are you doing well!

  • Freckles replied 11 years ago

Absolutely adore the blue dress on you Shannon. It was made for you in my eye and would not look nearly as fab on anyone else.

  • KathyL replied 11 years ago

Great dress! It looks so good on you. I'm so happy the boots worked out for you!

  • replied 11 years ago

THAT DRESS! It looks like it was custom made for you! No need to worry about final sale on *that* one. Wow. You look spectacular!

The mushroom skirt will fill an important hole in your winter wardrobe; good purchase.
@Suz: you NEED this skirt. It will be perfect with your hair.

Love the boots. So glad they fit and I'm almost a little jealous of all your boot-wearing weather. You will get many happy years out of these. Please wear them for me since I can't. :)

  • jen replied 11 years ago

    Love no 5 outfit :)

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Yes on all counts, Shannon. I'm particularly fond of the dress and the boots. You're going to look outrageous this fall. BTW -- can one have too many pencil skirts?

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Really love the skirt and oxfords outfit, it seems very "you." And the colors together are beautifully combined, I so admire anyone who's color crafty!

Your summery outfit with white shorts looks fresh and pretty and your new dress is a knockout. As well as being a 3 season dress.

Congrats on the new boots, I don't see any problems with height or swelling, they look just right.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Dress, skirt and boots, yes, yes, yes! That dress was made for you! Stunning:)
