Review: Clarks Sage Glamour ankle strap pump

Unfortunately I'm typing this from my phone so can't link to my previous post. I recently ordered the Clarks Sage Glamour ankle strap pump - the Clarks version of the YLF famous Okala. They arrived today and here are my observations/thoughts:

- They are significantly better for my feet than the Okala. They are wider in the fore foot than the Okala even in the regular width. They also come in wide. Because of this they accommodate my bunions quite comfortably. They also work very well for my high volume feet.

- The arch support is quite decent and my foot feels very supported.

- I love the closed back as it makes the shoe feel more substantial and sturdy. Less chance of my foot sliding around.

- The leather is gorgeous and the snakeskin print on the suede forefoot is gorgeous.

- The heel is just two inches and due to the "pitch" is more than manageable.

- These will fill my pointy toe dressy shoe needs perfectly.

Now for the downside....oh wait...there is NO downside! These are staying and when it stops snowing (sigh) I will be wearing them happily. Yay - another shoe need crossed off the list!

Darn! Thanks a lot, Shannon. Now I see another shoe "need" that I didn't know I had.
Glad they worked out so well for you!

    I echo Firecracker!

Whoops - forgot to mention they are true to size.

Should I say sorry now Sharan and Donna? :)

So glad they've worked out! I love your shoe reviews and appreciate them SO much. Thanks to you I am loving my Clark's Chelsea boots. Now I'm thinking of the Birkie look alikes that Shiny posted about...

I'm with Sharan and Donna..a need I didn't know I had. I'm thrilled that these will be joining your shoe team.

Well, finally something that you bought that I DON'T need!  Cuz the Okala's work really well for me, and I just scored another pair of those :).  But I did want to say that I'm really happy that you found something that suits your fussy feet... I predict you'll wear these a ton.

happy you found the perfect shoes.  looks like perfect heel height too..enjoy!

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Yay. Happy feet. They look beautiful, Shannon.

    They look great on you!

I actually just got them in the navy. I never tried the Okalas in person, but they always seemed just a little too delicate/dressy to be an everyday shoe for me, so I like how these seem sturdier.

Thanks ladies:) and thank you Angie for adding the links.

Aubergine - navy you say? Hmmmm...

Thanks for sharing the review! They look great on you. I actually just ordered these shoes from Macy's (with discount code, w00t!) to see if they'll work for me. The lower heel height and closed back makes them a much better candidate for my work outfits than some of the similarly styled shoes out there. Fingers crossed...

Those are beautiful, elegant shoes! Glad they worked out so well for you.

  • Aubergine replied 9 years ago

Yup, navy, and here they are to enable you or anyone else who needs enabling! Only Macy's and Amazon had them online that I saw, but not sure if they're anywhere else too, or anywhere Canadian-friendly.

For some reason, I can never find interesting navy shoes, so I was way too excited to see these.

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Oh my gosh, Aubergine, also in NAVY?? I might have to hunt those down. Shannon, so glad they are going to work for you!

Very nice.  I know I don't need any shoes but your review has me contemplating shoe shopping.  I'm really glad you filled a shoe hole Shannon.  When you have foot issues, it is a relief to find a pair that works well with both your wardrobe and your need for comfort.

Yay - bunion friendly shoes - I'm going on a hunt for the navy.  The link to Amazon is only coming up with black and sand, for some reason.

Thanks for the finds, Angie and Aubergine, that makes it easy to keep an eye on them.
