One more outfit idea for Kristin's wedding (ETA decision at bottom)

So I had one more idea this morning driving to work for an outfit for Kristin's wedding tomorrow. Yesterday I posted two possibilities, both using my blue lace dress http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ch-version. However, the weather has turned fairly chilly and this other idea popped up because of that.

What about the new Maggy London black/white wrap dress I just got (see picture below) with my black vintage beads, red pumps and red clutch? Or is the dress not quite "wedding-ish" enough?

Hella yeah!! You are hot in that dress!! YES YES YES!!
Does your hubby just LOVE it?!?!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Oh yeah - says it hugs me in all the right places! And yours?

  • modgrl replied 11 years ago

He hasn't seen it on me yet :) Too many packages arriving all at once. I didn't want to scare him. Plus it's still 100 degrees around here. I'm probably not going to be able to wear it until mid-september.

I like this one too Shannon. I say wear whatever you will feel most awesome in!

Oh this is a great cold weather alternative. And you haven't worn it to the office yet, right? That will make this a completely new ensemble for Kristin. I'm assuming the shoes have not gone to work yet and the clutch isn't usually carried to work. I vote yay!

Love it! It reminds me of one of Angie's fab dressy outfits!

  • MNsara replied 11 years ago

Shannon - now you're confusing me! This looks totally fab (and hot, thanks Rita) too. So how do you pick one now? Let the weather guide you?

I'd maybe still vote for the blue lace because lace says 'wedding' a bit more, but . . . gah!. . . if you didn't look so fab in all choices it would be a lot easier!

This dress looks great on you! It looks like a great alternative to me. I hate not being dressed for the weather, so I would recommend wearing whichever dress is more appropriate for the weather.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

I guess I'm the downer saying it looks pretty casual to me. I'd vote for one of the others with a wrap or fancy jacket. :T

Love this dress, Shannon! I think the fit makes it dressy enough, particularly with red accessories. Now, if it's an evening wedding with a formal reception, the dress from yesterday is "dressier." That said.......it's clear this dress is hitting your "happy place," and feeling fab is the first step to looking it!

Gorgeous!!! Definitely go with this if it is chilly. You can't lose in either of these brilliant outfits.

  • celia replied 11 years ago

This is a dificult decision.I love the lace dress but this one looks so good on you and, as Claire says it would be something new for Kristin wedding.
I would choose according to the weather that day.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

It's a KILLER frock! Love the shoes too.

But what are we comparing the outfit to for the wedding?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Angie - here's the link to the other two possibilites: both include the blue lace dress but one version has green accessories and one has red accessories.

I love this on you, but for me this would be a great occasion to wear the blue lace. I think this dress you'd be able to wear more for work etc.. than the blue lace?

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

It is true that I bought the Maggy London wrap dress for work....

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Enough already - I have GOT to stop obsessing about the outfit!!!

I've checked the forecast again and it looks like it's going to be a lovely day/evening (high of +24 celcius). The blue lace dress is one I don't wear often but absolutelylove and always feel good in. The Maggy London black/white I bought for work and I think I agree with Rae - not quite dressy enough for a wedding, even if it is a more casual setting.

Therefore I'm sticking to my original plan of the blue lace dress and am pairing it with the red clutch and red patent leather shoes, no brooch and a cuff. The dress speaks for itself with the gorgeous lace detailing and doesn't require a lot of accessories. I'm done. Thank you all for your input and your patience - time for a cup of coffee now!

Hooray! Great choice :-) Yup, time to relax and just enjoy :-)

(Plus your closet is clearly ready for all sorts of dress worthy events!)

  • MsMary replied 11 years ago

You can't go wrong with that fab lace dress! And it's always nice to dress up for a wedding! Hopefully we can see some photos of you with the beautiful bride after the fact!

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

Oh, honey. Lace frock with the red accessories by a billion percent.

  • celia replied 11 years ago

    You will look killer!Great choice.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Thank you for your validation Angie! Do you think I'll ever learn to trust my first instincts?

  • rute replied 11 years ago

LOVE! You look AMAZING in that dress!!!!

  • Marley replied 11 years ago

Alright! This dress is great - but that blue lace dress just sings "wedding!' Good choice!

  • Glory replied 11 years ago

Still voting for the lace dress at the wedding. It is something special and I think is perfect for the garden wedding in Wpg. I love the other one on you but the lace one notches it up a bit for that occasion!

  • replied 11 years ago

The lace dress with the red shoes is by far, one of your best outfits to date. I'm so glad you are going with it. I love the black and white dress too, don't get me wrong!
