I just noticed something 'cause of my Pinterest board

Several of the ensembles I like have great layering tees and tanks and that is something I am totally lacking.

Reminder to self: get good basic long sleeve, short sleeve tees in solids and stripes and a couple of great solid tanks come Spring. Also a couple of slouchier striped and solid tees would be great additions too.

That is all...

Welcome to 'da club... That's my NEVERending issue.
I seem to never have enough backdrop tops.

...that's all, you are now dismissed. LOL !

I cannot live without my layering Ts and camis.

I love Second Base for this.

I have a lot of tanks/camis but I also need some solid short and long sleeve layering tees.

Build the basics Shannon, build the basics :-)

There is a big difference between layering camis and tees and actual "backdrop tops" to me. I am lacking in the second department. Unfortunately, sometimes you need an actual blouse to make it happen, especially with blazers.

Shannon do you have Joe Fresh in your area? They're carried in the Loblaws stores here. I've been buying their basic long and short sleeved tees for a couple of years now. Quality is quite good, price is unbelievable. Check them out if you get a chance. Also, Northern Reflections carries some good basic tees and their quality is excellent.

I have plenty of those basics I am just trying to learn how to layer them.

That is something I am lacking too. missvee made a great point about Joe Fresh. I would definitely give it a try.

I have a few decent layering tops and Ts, but like Zap, I am lacking actual tops. I find them VERY difficult. Because I resist a lot of the patterns/ colour combos and styles. Hmmm.Thank you for alerting me to my own glaring wardrobe hole!

I'll take one of everything on your pinterest board.

Shannon, Old Navy had a brand of short sleeve tees that were listed as form fitting in the summer and early fall I have a couple of those as layering basics. But they disappeared. One thing to note, I could not wear them as a single layer as they made me too busty but are great under swingy sweaters, other t's.

I have oodles of these, Shannon, but it's so hard to find just the right fit. I find that many of mine are a tad too short (not likely your problem) or too thin and stretchy --- they tend to move and migrate on me, even when I seriously upsize. I've found some great brights recently at JCP.

I have been looking in my usual haunts and discount stores for a white opaque flowy woven shell, preferably rayon or silk. For some reason I think it should cost about $11. Every blogger seems to have one beneath her scarf or cardi in summer. But I am convinced one does not exist in my price range. They are all polyester and/or see-through. :( Some things that seem so simple are so difficult to find, and then cost a king's ransom when you DO find them.

Oh, this is SUCH a wardrobe hole for me too. Please let me know (with brands and stores!) if you find anything awesome, OK? I will do the same.

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

This is also a wardrobe hole for me! Tops are my nightmare!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Well clearly I am not alone in my quest and wardrobe hole!

missvee - we do have Joe Fresh here and I will be checking them out - thank you!

A - I can check out Old Navy too - thanks!

    Amy - :)
