WIW: White & Floral

Hmmm…I love this floral moto with its smoky and moody colours paired with crisp optic white. But I'm never sure what colour of top to put on with those two items. Today I'm trying my sparkly navy pullover.

I started the outfit with my TR Brianna BF white jeans. I haven't worn these ones for a while and forgot how comfy they are. I've paired the jeans with my sparkly navy knit with the hi-low hemline, and then topped that with my CM floral moto. I added my cream cut out oxfords and large cream handbag and then finished off the outfit with my black/white specs and bright pink lipstick.

Does this work? Does the navy top pair with the moto and white jeans ok? What colour top would work better? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

ETA: I realize I haven't got the hem of the jeans right - roll one more to be BF style, or uncuff to be scrunched full length?

WIW: Corporate Comfy

I'm in meetings today from 9:00 - 2:00 and need to be both corporate and comfy for the day. I'm so glad I bought this skirt suit and have it to not only wear as separates, but grab as a suit for these types of days.

I've paired my black suit with my metallic drapey EF tee to add a bit of punch and unexpectedness to the corporate suit look. I'm wearing nude hose for a bit of leg warmth (it's a bit cool this morning) and am wearing a pair of Naot shoes. Y'all know my shoe woes these days and I have had these Naot Mary-Jane style pumps for a few years now. I had tucked them away since I wasn't feeling too much love for them in the last two years but they are oh so comfy so am bringing them back into rotation. I love the gunmetal "not quite black"  colour of them. They may not be cutting edge in style but they are a 10 out of 10 on the comfort scale.

My oversized animal print clutch and purple/clear specs finish off the outfit. I have to brush my teeth and then promise to put on some lipstick!

What do you think? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIW: floral & cargo

TGIF!

Today's outfit started with my silky floral bomber - the pictures do not do this piece justice. I have completely changed my mind about polyester based on today's excellent quality. This bomber feels like silk, drapes and moves with beautiful fluidity and can be machine washed. What more can you want?

I've paired the bomber with a simple black tank, semi tucked into my olive cargo pants. I've added a black leather belt and chose my pewter small wedge open toe pumps for footwear (more on footwear on a separate post later). A soft pink lip and my purple/clear specs, as well as my black leather handbag finish off the outfit.

This looked better in my head I think…what say you oh wise ones? Does it work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Pants: Ricki's

The hunt for new black shoes

So if you saw my post yesterday http://youlookfab.com/welookfab/topic/shoe-sadness you'll know that my lovely new Fugitive shoes won't be worn again by me. So I'm on the hunt for a replacement pair.

I'm
looking for heels no more than 2 inches, covered and pointy toes (but
not severely so), and all leather construction. I'm not as concerned
with the brand name or the longevity as I am the comfort factor. So here's a selection of
possibilities which are brands which have normally fit my foot and are
locally available.

I would like to get my hands on the DV Dolce Vita Geo D'Orsay flats that a few Fabbers have but alas, can't find in my size in stores or even on websites that are either in my size or that deliver to Canada. Even those listed on Amazon are third party shipping by a company that won't ship to Canada :(

So these are my options - any jump out at you for me to try on?

WIW: The Other EF Dress

I first bought the Eileen Fisher draped front dress in black (the one Angie featured on her blog post yesterday about two fab dresses) and loved it so much, that I also bought it in ink blue. Both dresses were purchased off eBay but for some reason, the blue one got stuck at Customs for four weeks and it finally just arrived on Monday and it's warm enough today for its debut.

I love the dark inky blue of this dress and because my office is a wee bit on the chilly side, decided to top it with my navy lace moto. I love that the blues don't quite match and how my arms peek through the lace sleeves. I then chose my olive/cobalt snakeskin clutch for my handbag as I enjoy how this bag pairs with any shade of blue. For shoes, I went with my Cole Haan animal print, chunky heeled pumps. I like that the print is a bit unexpected with the outfit. I am taking my gold flats with me today though in case my foot starts to hurt part way through the day. Red glasses and a soft pink lipstick finish off the outfit.

What do you think? Does this work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

P.S. I just noticed Dusty Bottom's backside in the last pic - he was very helpful this morning :)
