WIW: The Other EF Dress

I first bought the Eileen Fisher draped front dress in black (the one Angie featured on her blog post yesterday about two fab dresses) and loved it so much, that I also bought it in ink blue. Both dresses were purchased off eBay but for some reason, the blue one got stuck at Customs for four weeks and it finally just arrived on Monday and it's warm enough today for its debut.

I love the dark inky blue of this dress and because my office is a wee bit on the chilly side, decided to top it with my navy lace moto. I love that the blues don't quite match and how my arms peek through the lace sleeves. I then chose my olive/cobalt snakeskin clutch for my handbag as I enjoy how this bag pairs with any shade of blue. For shoes, I went with my Cole Haan animal print, chunky heeled pumps. I like that the print is a bit unexpected with the outfit. I am taking my gold flats with me today though in case my foot starts to hurt part way through the day. Red glasses and a soft pink lipstick finish off the outfit.

What do you think? Does this work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Lace moto: INC
Dress: Eileen Fisher
Shoes: Cole Haan
Clutch: Trouve

P.S. I just noticed Dusty Bottom's backside in the last pic - he was very helpful this morning :)

I love that lace sleeved moto! This is another fabulous outfit. Hopefully your foot will feel better today. And hey, didn't we both have foot issues at the same time when I had my last foot surgery? Well, there must be something in the air because I am having foot surgery (on the other foot) tomorrow!

Dusty must have seen the animal prints and knew he would fit right in :)

Great outfit! You inspired me to wear
my blue dress with my lace moto.
Your Dusty is a perfect match for your shoes, even he/she has fun with fashion!

Oh gosh Shannon, you've done it again, it's another Best Ever.
    You are a styling wizard.
Those blues look great together and I love that your skin shows through the lace sleeve. Beautiful.

Gorgeous! I wonder if I need that dress too.

I also really like the bag and shoes with the dark blues.

So pretty Shannon!!  Just love this dress on you!!  Sigh!!

This is gorgeous. I love the dress even more in blue on you than in black! The lace sleeves are a delight. This one could easily go from work to dinner out with Mr. S. (Hint hint).

I hope your foot feels better today, Shannon!

The lace moto is Devine, I think I need one of these :)
The clutch is a standout, I think I need one of these too !!!
And the shoes what can I say....leopard with a wearable height heel..perfect.
You just get better and better, I really look forward to seeing how you put things together :)

Fantastic Moto and from the photos I thought your were rocking a black and navy look... I am sure the two shades of blue work just as well.

What a joy that dress is! Love the lace moto with it. The dress is a clearly a winner!

Perfect outfit!  When I see your incredible looks, It makes me want to work in an office again....just to be able to dress up (and go out for lunch.)  But, since I won't, I will live vicariously through your beautiful outfits!

Karie - oh my gosh! That's right - we did have trouble at the same time. We were both in boots for surgery/sprained ankle and now here we are again. Isn't that just bizarre? Good luck with your second surgery :)

Joyce - yay for lace moto jackets!

Aubergine - yes, you need this dress :)

Suz - I'll pass on your "less than subtle" hint to Mr. S :)  Unfortunately it is now halfway into my day and I've had to change into my flats. Oh well...

Joy - but then I'll be naked - lol!

Debra - isn't this an amazing dress?

Thank you all so much for your lovely comments. I am hopelessly in love with this EF dress and highly recommend it to any apples out there.

    You look terrific. Amazing dress!
And it looks like your foot is at least feeling a bit better.  Big hugs to Dusty the Helpful Kitty ;)

  • Angie replied 9 years ago

Absolutely killer. WOW. Look at all the delicious textures and patterns in #4.

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Lovely! I really like the darker animal print shoes with this, keeps things interesting yet equally moody. I also dig how the lace moto gives you laced sleeves, it just further enriches the already rich textures. Very nice!

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

Shannon, I love this!  And I wore a (black) lace blazer over an ink dress today.  Great minds...

  • rabbit replied 9 years ago

Love how the subtle tones let the textures shine!

  • Debbie replied 9 years ago

Love this! I love this dress I might wear mine tomorrow.
You are stunning in this. You are giving me lots of styling ideas.

  • Gigi replied 9 years ago

I'm glad you duplicated, Shannon! This looks so great on you. I love how the lace moto seems to echo the pattern on the dress...am I right that there is a bit of a lace pattern on the dress? (Hard to see since it's such a dark color.)

I like the animal print shoes too. I am always reluctant to wear my leopard booties because I feel like they are too much going on with the rest of my outfit. But you have other textures going on, and it's not too much. Maybe I just need to get used to the look.

I sure hope your foot is doing better! That sounded so painful.

  • Deborah replied 9 years ago

Stunning and I am so pleased you got the dress in ink. I missed out my blue Metalicus dress, so glad one of us had success:). I can see this working hard in your wardrobe:)

  • Mochi replied 9 years ago

Wonderful textures and the color combos are stupendous. Plus, obviously flattering. Your style is so confident and authoritative as you continue to experiment and evolve.

  • Beth Ann replied 9 years ago

Beautiful and chic, Shannon!  Love the animal print as a finishing touch!  Here's to ink blue!
