What I thrifted: red patent leather shoes

Popped into the thrift store on the way to get my hair trimmed (I had 15 minutes to kill...) and here were these beauties on the shelf. Just put out today apparently. My size. Naturalizer. Red patent leather. And look like they've never been worn. $19.99. They came home with me. They are very comfortable except for the fact that my foot wants to slide forward a bit - a quick and easy fix with a Dr. Scholls insert.

*happy sigh*

Now that we have a Banana Republic here...

...I was browsing the website on my lunch break and found this dress. I LOVE IT! And it comes in petite sizing. This could be my replacement for my winter black ponte knit dress that I wore into the ground. I love a simple knit dress to wear under my various blazers and with boots.

What do you think? http://bananarepublic.gapcanad.....=917387013

WIW: Black, green and some faded denim

Hmmm.....I wonder if this looked better in my head...last time I wore this dress, I paired it with my white denim jacket and black sandals. But today I felt like mixing it up a bit and instead paired it with my faded denim jacket and neutral peep-toe booties.

Does this work? How are the colours and proportions? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

K/R: NAS Part 4 (Rachel Roy Tree Print Skirt)

This is my second last item from NAS (still have the Blondo Vergara boots to come). Let me say that the fabric on the skirt is beautiful and as Angie said, the drape lovely. It is definitely form fitting on my ample backside but it does up very easily, is not tight or uncomfortable, and I can sit easily in it. I would like it to be a smidge looser but if my new medication continue to work well (down 3 pounds so far since they switched my meds) that should hopefully become a reality.

However, let's judge it as it is now. I've done a couple of quick stylings for your viewing pleasure (lol) so let me know what you think.

WIW: White Denim & Yellow Stripes

Nothing new in today's outfit - I've worn this exact combination before. I'm glad it's cooled down enough to bring out the white jeans again though. Wearing my white denim with the yellow and oatmeal striped sweater that Inge had recommended (thanks Inge!), neutral peep toe booties and animal print handbag for some pattern mixing.

Hope you like it! As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

WIB: metallic flats

See what a wonderful influence you are Angie? I'm beginning to fall in love with flats - now don't get me wrong, I will always be a "heel" girl at heart, but I'm beginning to see flats as just as fashionable and worthy as all other shoes.

While running my errands today, I popped into our local mall to pick up my son a pair of American Eagle khakis (his favourite pants). While there I noticed that The Bay had several pairs of shoes on significant discount. I've been wanting a pair of metallic flats but haven't found the right ones...until now. Here were these pretty, gold, leather flats with cut outs (is that what they're called?). They are Enzo Angiolini and have the softest, most amazing footbed. On my foot, I would say they are even more comfortable than my orange Born flats, and that's saying something. They fit perfectly and will require no breaking in period at all. Plus they were 60% off!

(please ignore my dusty floors in these shots...)

K/R: NAS Part 3 (Maggy London dress/VC banded tee)

Ok...the Maggy London wrap dress isn't part of NAS but I bought it at the same time so am including it here. I'm not going to say anything about either item as I'm curious to the response. I'll reveal my thoughts on these a little later on.

Sorry for the no make up, poopy hair day - feeling worse than yesterday, but couldn't wait to post my K/R anyway.

WIW: For a day of running around

I have one of those days where I have about a million places to go for little errands - need halogen light bulbs for the kitchen, I'm out of Starbuck's coffee for my Tassimo, need to drop off some dry-cleaning, pick up son's prescription - you know, one of those days.

Am wearing my dark wash denim bermuda shorts, paired with my green pin tucked scoop neck tee, and floral flats. I've added my raffia handbag and away I go...

What do you think? Does it all work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

K/R: NAS Part 2 - Houndstooth Blouse (ETA new stylings)

I do find Nordstrom's delivery a bit confusing - I ordered the VC striped banded tee, Elliot Lucca handbag, VC sweater blazer and Maggy London dress at the same time. I've received the sweater blazer and handbag, but not the tee or dress. And then today I've received the VC houndstooth blouse, which was shipped two days later than the first order...strange, but whatever.

Anyway, here's the Vince Camuto houndstooth blouse in petite. The sleeves are slightly long so I have cuffed them once. Otherwise I think the fit is spot on. I've popped it on with the Reitman's dark red jeans I recently bought (waving hi to jeans twin Mona!) for a quick styling. The jeans are long with these shoes, but you get the idea. Apologies for the no make up and messy hair - DS, DH and I have all come down with strep throat and are feeling under the weather. Good thing I'm off work this week.

What's the verdict on the blouse? Fit and style good? I can picture it with various trousers, pencil skirts, even semi tucked with BF jeans.

WIB: Angie - I thought of you when I spied these (ETA photo of proof)

A new Goodwill store opened not that far out of my neighbourhood this morning so when running a few errands, I thought I'd pop in and check it out.

I saw these beautiful little two-toned quilted leather flats in the window and promptly picked them off their shelf and tried them on. They fit like they were made for me and look like they've hardly ever been worn. I don't know anything about the brand (Shelly's London) but the quality looks good. Soft leather, beautiful black leather patent toe and bow, decent footbed and support. So for $3 they came home with me.

Maybe I'll turn into a "flats girl" after all...
