WIB: Angie - I thought of you when I spied these (ETA photo of proof)

A new Goodwill store opened not that far out of my neighbourhood this morning so when running a few errands, I thought I'd pop in and check it out.

I saw these beautiful little two-toned quilted leather flats in the window and promptly picked them off their shelf and tried them on. They fit like they were made for me and look like they've hardly ever been worn. I don't know anything about the brand (Shelly's London) but the quality looks good. Soft leather, beautiful black leather patent toe and bow, decent footbed and support. So for $3 they came home with me.

Maybe I'll turn into a "flats girl" after all...

That's it Shannon. I don't believe you're thrifting any of this. I bet you're secretly buying things in stores and just telling us you bought them at thrift stores. *tsk, tsk* You thought you could fool us but I'm not falling for it. ;-)

(PS. Those shoes are gorgeous, no matter where you got them)

I swear, one of these days I am going to show up on your doorstep with an empty suitcase and a wild urge to thrift!

Sylvie - too funny! But here's the proof honey - photo of the Goodwill receipt! (just blocked out the address and phone number on the receipt)

    Rae - c'mon over anytime!

  • Jem replied 11 years ago

Those look fun! You are lucky you got another goodwill store close by!

  • Sylvie replied 11 years ago

Rae, I thought about sending Shannon my measurements and a $100 bill and telling her to thrift me a new wardrobe, but I thought it might be ever so *slightly* presumptuous.

I guess we will just have to show up on her doorstep someday.

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Hehe, careful or you will be running a tour soon, and Sylvie and I will be at the head of the pack. :)

Shannon, some people have such great luck. When we golf, my partners ball always ricochets back onto the fairway when he heads into the trees. You have the equivalent of the "member bounce" for thrift shopping. I swear the few times I have gone to thrift stores, I have seen nothing of interest AND we live in the same city.

Love the shoes. They are very chanelesque and suit you to a T. Great find.

You crack me up! These will fit beautifully into your closet -- they're simple, but just a little "retro"

My sister bought these shoes this summer when she was in the UK. I'd never heard of the brand before either, but I LOVED the shoes.

But she paid considerably more for hers :)
