WIW: Pop of Citron for the Cold

Well our warm winter weather is gone now and this morning it is -40 degrees Celcius with wind chill. And apparently not getting any warmer throughout the day. Sigh…time to bundle up.

Today's outfit started with my ponte knit leggings and my merino wool slouchy pull over. On top of that, I added my bronze sparkly hi-lo drapey cardigan. For footwear, I chose my trusty Doc Martens

And then to add a bright pop of colour, I am using my new citron handbag (Christmas gift from hubby). I love how in some light it looks yellow and in other light it looks more acid green.

I am warm, cozy and still feel stylish. Can you ask for anything more from an outfit??? What do you think? All work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Cardigan: Eileen Fisher (eBay)
Pull over: Lord & Taylor
Leggings: NYDJ
Boots: Doc Martens
Handbag: Gift

Whoops - hit Yay or Nay by accident - just ignore

Nope, can't ask for much more than that! Looks perfect. I love pretty much anything you do with that cardi. And the pop of yellow is a nice happy touch. And ugh, -40? We're getting-25 tomorrow. Here we go!

I think I am also gravitating towards these kind of drapey looks!! Marking for inspiration

Excellent! The citron bag adds a touch of colors sort of like Angie's glasses as she describes on today's post.

I cannot even imagine being that cold.   But you look great.   Polished yet cosy.  And that citron handbag is amazing.

That purse is beyond gorgeous.  There is nothing it won't add to.

Looking good, Shannon! I have a bag this color, too, and you'll see how many compliments the color gets from people.

What Shevia said. That bag is fantastic. I predict it will get a LOT of use across all seasons. I love that the texture somehow makes it feel sturdier and more winter worthy than a softer bag in that colour might feel. Fabulous!

Brrrr is right.  I don't even want to leave the house today , but, duty calls :)
Your husband has a great eye - and that bag is the best gift ever.  Onward ho!  (at least it's a short week)

Ugh. Winter is such a drag and the two worst months are ahead of my area.

You look warm and fab. I adore the pop of citron!

You had me with your smile and the citron. xo

I'm so in love with this citron handbag and Suz I think you have hit the nail on the head as to why - it's the texture. If it had just been a smooth leather handbag in the same color, it would not have been the same. The texture gives the bag visual weight IMHO and definitely makes what could be considered a summer color an all-season look instead.

I put on my bright red longer puffer coat when I stepped outside this morning and really liked the bright citron with the red - a very happy combination :)

    Thanks for your comments ladies.
