WIW: Double Snakeskin & a nod to Spring

March 1st already! There's a hint of Spring in the air - longer days, melting ice, warmth in the sun...

Today's outfit is a nod to Spring with a light weight yellow and oatmeal striped slouchy sweater, tucked into my grey slouchy skinnies (regular skinnies sized up). I've added a thick belt in crackled golden suede with brass tacks. For footwear I've popped on my python booties and then decided to make it a double snakeskin day with my Elliott Lucca handbag.

These sized up skinnies are now my favourite jeans and I'm thinking of tracking them down in other washes. The legs are slim enough that I don't feel like I'm swimming in them but they are nice and loose and comfy. Should I look for more in other washes?

My specific questions on this outfit are whether two shots of snakeskin is overdoing it? Does the belt work with this outfit? As always, all comments/suggestions for improvement are welcome.

Sweater: Gap
Jeans: Jessica Simpson
Belt: Mudd (thrifted)
Boots: Sam Edelman
Handbag: Elliott Lucca

I don't think it is overdoing it -- love those jeans, and you need to get more things in yellow because it looks great on you!

I especially like the belt and boot combination. The grey stripe in the sweater goes with the snakeskin and belt and the yellow looks terrific on you. Put together casual greatness!

ETA I really like the jeans fits too, and it seems worth repeating in another color.

    SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

What Shevia said. I'd probably do a solid bag...love the yellow with the snakeskin!

Not too much snake at all. The jeans are great, such a good fit and I really like the leg line. Fab spring colours too.

I love, love, love, love, LOVE yellow and grey together! Not too much snakeskin to me, they're both relatively small doses, and the shoes are covered a bit.

Yellow and grey is a great combination. The outfit is pretty simple and streamlined so the accessories can be a bit over the top and work well.

ETA: I reread that and didn't word it well at all. I didn't mean that the accessories were over the top in any way but more that you can push the envelope a touch when the detail level on the outfit isn't competing.

It is starting to feel like the promise of spring is there.

I really love the yellow on you and I don't think it's too much snake at all. Your bag has yellow tones and I love the fact it compliments your sweater. Fab fitting jeans btw.

Another one who agrees with Shevia here! Great combo, and very fresh looking!

The jeans look amazing on you and I would try to track them down in a lighter wash for spring.

Tanya - I'm actually hoping these jeans become available in white for spring/summer - I think that could work.

Don't you all just love yellow for spring? So bright and cheery. I totally agree Ceit that I need more yellow.

Thanks for your kind words Shevia, Sarah, Deborah, Rae, Dianthus, AJ, Suz and Diane!

I love this look on you Shannon. I have a similar striped tee that I have been neglecting -- I might have to pull it out after this -- and inspiration struck!

What Shevia said! Yellow is a great color for you, and such a happy color.
