WIW: Black & blue with new shoes

Continuing my challenge to wear older items in new ways - today started with my navy EF front draped dress, in its second full year of wear.

Today I topped the blue dress with my black drapery crepe sleeveless vest. I'm surprised by how much this vest has turned into a workhorse. Again, the sleeves of the dress aren't ideal with the vest but I think it's JFE.

I then chose my new Vionic wedge pumps for footwear - yay for happy feet! I decided on my Trouvé olive/cobalt/black clutch for my handbag. I think this might be my first purchase after I joined YLF so it's about 4 years old.

I'm feeling love for my jewelry again so am wearing a dangly bracelet with beads in various shades of blue and silver and abalone shell.

As always, all comments/suggestions welcome :)

It is fun to mix in some old favorites isn't it?  You look very nice in cobalt and black.  I commented on the color combo in your WIW the other day.  I remember when WNTW was still new to me, this combo and deep red and black were much maligned as being too 80's.  I remember it because this was always one of my absolute favorites so I am really happy to see you rocking it.

It looks to me like the wedge pumps are a similar shape to the new ones you had posted the other day.  Is it the toe shape that is different?

I am also wearing jewellery again and loving the way it changes the look of an outfit.

Deborah - thanks so much for your lovely comment. Would also like to try this combo but with my Doc boots and a scarf.

Cheryle - these actually are the wedge pumps I posted the other day. They arrived and are super comfortable. Yay for Team Wear!

So gorgeous!  That EF dress just loves you!!  Happy feet are a must, so glad these are comfortable for you!  They look fab with the dress. My magpie gene is alive and well, so I love the jewelry. Looks like I may have passed that along to both my daughters . . .

Ooh, this is lovely Shannon! The dress and vest look fab together and those shoes look great. Yay for happy feet!

I had no doubt that you would look super fab in those shoes, but you proved me right anyhow! Love the combination of blue dress and black vest. Shoes work perfectly!

I wonder if you still believe me because I keep saying that your outfits are fabulous, but I swear it's the thruth, they all are fab and this one is no exception.
I love the combination of blue and black, the drappiness of both items, the shoes look terrific and the clutch gives it the perfect pop of color.
And then there is the bling.
    More than JFE, simply fabulous.

I find your sense of style very very INSPIRING! You're rocking this challenge, and once again, I freaking LOVE THOSE SHOES!

Ok...I've had on the new wedge pumps (right out of the box) for about 4.5 hours so far today with a fair bit of walking and they are soooooooo comfy. Not a pinch or a rub anywhere :)

And I'm having so much fun putting together new-to-me combinations this week and wearing jewelry again.

Thanks everyone for your kind words :)

I think the shoes look good, I liked them in your previous post as well.  I think the vest/dress combo is modern and trendy.  No worries about your footwear bringing down your style quotient.

You know something?  These pumps are perfect.  No extra embellishments trying to make them look artsy or cool - they are a perfectly classic ,clean look.  This is really fantastic outfit Shannon - and yay for the drapey vest.  I like them better with sleeveless tops too - but it does work just fine here. Pretty jewellery too !

Sara and Lisa - glad to hear that the more classic shoes work with my style. Hmmm...maybe I'm more classic than I think?

You look great and hooray for comfy shoes!

I think not every piece we have on needs to fit into the 'category " or descriptor we've set for ourselves.  A classic, clean shoe, bag, etc, goes with anything, and in fact I think grounds an  outfit in reality  - oh boy, I'm getting all spiritual and weird here  - lol.

Yay for the comfy shoes! And yay for another fab outfit.
