WIW: Thanks to Mary, Cheryle & Carla

I was inspired by Mary, Cheryle and Carla's olive cargo pant outfits that they've shown us the last couple of days so knew I had to bust out my olive cargo pants too! Plus these pants fit into my personal challenge of wearing older items in new ways.

Sadly I don't have either gingham shirt or a striped top so paired with my dark olive skinny Cargo pants is my white drapey blouse - semi tucked on one side to create an asymmetrical hem.

I topped that with my Levi denim jacket and scrunched sleeves. Although it's crazy hot here right now, this jacket is necessary in my cold office.

I chose my nude peep toe sandal booties (best summer purchase) to lengthen my leg line and then grabbed my taupe/cream snakeskin Elliott Lucca handbag (waving to bag twin MsMary) to book end the footwear.

I'm debating adding a long necklace to break up the expanse of white in the blouse - what do you think?

As always, all comments/suggestions on my outfit are welcome :)

It's very nice! I think I will copy your idea of the side tuck.

There is not so much white with the jacket on but a long pendant might work - great copying!

Despite being casual-- this has your familiar edge. I like it, a lot. Maybe the elements of this look are something to keep in mind considering adding edge with NON-footwear (although the sandal booties are cool)/

I have noticed a quiet elegance or chic-ness to your recent WIWs. So gorgeous. It shows that the right fabric and cuts make all the difference. I have felt the same shift in my own style too. Funny this style journey :)

Ooh, I like this! I agree with ABC...your style is super fab right now. (mind you it always is :))

PS, I think a necklace could be a nice addition.

There you go....joining the awesome olive pants brigade!!! You look just as awesome, Shannon. I love your outfit with the denim jacket and white tee, and the modern sandals and bag give it a chic, effortless style.

You're so effortless (and I mention this on EVERY WIW) that your style is almost Parisian chic!

I agree that a long necklace of some sort would be perfect here. I'd be tempted to pick up on the red in your glasses, and a darker tone of the bag/jacket....along with some gold to brighten things up. Really nice look - and i'm another one loving your outfits lately.

Killer Simple Chic. I vote no necklace.

Elly - interesting point about the elements of edge. I need to chew on this a bit. I feel a future post brewing... :)

abc - thank you so much - what a lovely thing to say.

Maneera - I think you NEED olive cargo pants...just sayin'...

Angie - you'll be happy to know I went without the necklace. Seemed more streamlined that way :)

Thanks for your comments Joyce, Shevia, Diane and Lisa.

' A quiet elegance' , I like that definition for your current style. Maybe that has to do with embracing more draped items?
Beautiful outfit as always, the round of olive cargos in the forum is certainly bringing mine to attention :)

I like the outfit as it is, without a necklace. I think the necklace could end up competing visually with the draped/tucked hem of the blouse. I really like this shade of denim with the olive pants.
