K/R: BF Jeans - Alfred Sung

Trying the Pure by Alfred Sung BF jeans in light wash. These are one size up for me. I tried the next size from that but they were disproportionately huge on my thighs.

What do you think? Do these work? If not, what's off with them? I like the light wash - gives a more relaxed and casual vibe. There's some crotch slouch but not too much. The cuffs can obviously be rolled higher or lower.

Over to you ladies...

Thay are good looking BF jeans. They look good.

I vote return. I don't like the bum fit.

These are pretty darn good - I like the rise and the fit through the hip and thigh - slouchy but not gangsta' baggy. The ankles could maybe stand to be pegged or tapered a wee bit to give a slimmer fit around your calf, but otherwise I could totally see these with your silk blouses and a variety of tanks.

I like them on you, especially if you roll them up a tad more.

I'm going to wait until those Gap BFs arrive. Then you should do a post with both jeans in them for us to compare fit and see if there's a clear winner. I'm kind of on the fence about these, but I'm not sure if it's just because I prefer BFs to be in darker washes or what. I'm no expert, so I really want to see them both side-by-side.

I like them on you, perhaps rolled a little more as Meredith said.
    I also like the wash.

I know you want honesty, so... I don't love the wash and I'd like to see a bit more slouch. I'm waiting to see the Gap SBFs on you!

I wish we could have seen the ones that were too big on your thighs. These are cute but look like they *fit* better (instead of slouching) than I'm seeing others' boyfriend jeans fit. Then again, what do I know? I've not even tried on a pair of BF's yet; take my opinion with a grain of salt. :)

I like them a lot, Shannon! Lets compare them to the Gaps when they arrive :)

I look forward to seeing the Gap ones on you....I am in love with mine, I can't wait until I can wear them!

Darn right I want honesty Una!

So we have a plan then - I'll hold onto these until I get the Gap ones and we'll compare.

I am wondering if I ordered a large enough size in the Gap ones. They didn't have the size in store so I ordered online but ordered my actual size. Should I have gone up one size in them???

  • Lyn D. replied 11 years ago

Shannon, I like these on you. You may be O.K. with the sizing of the Gaps because I ended up with a pair 1 size SMALLER than my waist size, although I am a pear.

  • replied 11 years ago

I went up a size, and they are quite baggy, with wearing them I am sure they will stretch more. I am interested to see what ordering the actual size looks like. I seem to recall Una saying she ordered normal size and larger size and the difference between them was slight.

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Thanks Lyn and Ceit - here's hoping!

  • replied 11 years ago

When I ordered I had just read Angie's comments that the models were wearing them even baggier than the sizes/cuts that some ylfabbers had chosen so I decided to commit fully to the boyfriend esthetic...go big or go home as it were :) I hope they work for you!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Shannon from the front and back views these look to big. There appears to be too much fabric at the thigh. This may not be a concern with a boyfriend fit but it would drive me crazy;). I think compare to the others you have coming before making a decision.

  • catgirl replied 11 years ago

My size up in the Gap jeans have somehow stretched out so much they are beyond slouchy into ridiculous. My regular size also stretched but that helps with the BF look. These run a little big anyway because it's built into the style.

    Can't wait to see!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Oh that's great to know Una - thanks!
