K/K: TR Phantom Brianna

The day after I received my TR Cameron Slim BF jeans (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....n-slim-bfs) I knew I wanted True Religion jeans in white. I have never owned premium denim IN MY LIFE and could feel the quality of the Cameron's as soon as I tried them on.

My white Jessica Simpson sized up skinnies have done me well but they bag out pretty badly by mid day and are not holding up as well as I'd like. And the slim cropped Reitman's pull on white jeans are already falling apart (what do you want for $20?).

However, I knew two things about this hunt for white TR's: 1) I would not pay full price since I couldn't really spring for two pair of premium denim in one week and; 2) I didn't want the Cameron's in white. I love the big back pockets of the Cameron's in the denim finish but did not want the big pockets in white jeans (just too much "white butt", you know?).

So I found these TR Phantom Brianna white jeans, brand new complete with tags, in my size, on eBay for $63 (plus $7 for shipping). She had a 14 day return policy so I ordered them literally the day after I got my Cameron's.

They arrived today and I couldn't be more pleased. Same great quality as the Cameron's and perfect fit - not too snug, not too loose. According to a bit of internet research, the Phantom Brianna's are considered a "baby BF" - not totally baggy but not a snug fit either.

These aren't up for a Keep/Return vote as I am most definitely keeping. I am asking about hemming length though. Like the Cameron's, I'm hemming to my most common heel height so am using my nude pumps as my "fit shoe". Do these look about right? Also, do I want to hem them with a one inch cuff like I did with the Cameron's (as per Angie's suggestion) or do I treat these more as regular jeans rather than BF jeans?  Would love your advice :)

P.S. I haven't washed these yet so they are a bit stiff. I will definitely wash before pinning to take for hemming. Also, the rear view isn't stellar but I don't bat for Team Rear anyway. I'm fine with this backside view.

Great jeans Shannon. You are so brave and hard working.

I've given up on the search for a good pair of white jeans. Have already decided on sourcing out winter whites, and hope I do better in the coming months.

Perfect jeans!  What a lucky find!
I like the length as you have it here - and you can roll a bit for a different look while still keeping the roll under the ankle.
I am really envious that you can order white jeans from ebay and they fit perfectly - and I have been ordering tons of them and none fit at all!!!

    Great jeans!

Fantastic find, Shannon! Wow. I am not a very good judge of the length at the moment because I'm still waffling over hemming my Camerons. So I will let smarter voices prevail on that.

Was this a Canadian ebay seller? I wonder if they have my size? And was your size same as the Camerons?

Runcarla - don't give up on your white jean search! Your pair is out there somewhere.

Sveta - like Carla, you too will find your perfect pair.

Suz - I did end up having my Cameron's hemmed so that they have a one inch cuff and am really pleased with the end result. If you don't mind me asking, what is keeping you from hemming yours?  The eBay seller was from the U.S. (http://myworld.ebay.ca/designer*purse_treasure*shoppe*kathi/&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2754) and she carries a lot of True Religion merchandise. And I was wrong about the shipping - I thought it was $7 but it was $17. Still reasonable IMO. I did order the same size as my Cameron's. I'm hoping this means I have a consistent size (at least for now) in a brand I'm very happy with.

ETA: I just noticed on her eBay site that she's no longer listing a return policy. I'm wondering if she's not doing that anymore?

    Thanks, Shannon!

What is keeping me from hemming my Camerons? I honestly don't know! I just keep wavering back and forth on whether they really need it. I think I'm right at the edge, you know? And something is making me hesitate about Wonder Woman East and these jeans. I need to get to the root of it. I have some fear she might mess them up, I guess.

Thanks for the link - I am going to check that!! Yes, $17 is still reasonable (in our terms, LOL.) I may or may not bite...when I consider the damage I MIGHT be doing at NAS, it seems like a foolish idea. Of course nothing I've ordered from NAS may work, in which case I guess I'll have change burning a hole in my pocket!

Ack! I love them on you! They look perfect on you with those shoes - great choice for hemming.

These look amazing on you, Shannon!  Wear them lots and lots and enjoy!

Great jeans, Shannon. I never heard of the Phantom Brianna's, but I have a pair of TR Brianna's that I adore. I think they look great the length you have them. I wear mine full length, and fold them up for a cropped look. Mine are a thin weight cotton.

Hmm - lovely!  there's a local store that carries used premium denim.  I've never tried it on.  Maybe I should....  (Then again - maybe it's better to stay content!)

  • cciele replied 10 years ago

So glad TR jeans are working for you -- the Brianna's look great!

And I am chuckling over the "K/K" in your post title :)

  • Transcona Shannon replied 10 years ago

Suz - if the length of your Cameron's is working as is, then just leave them. I'll be honest, I pinned mine myself when I took them to Wonder Woman and I fretted the entire time she had them in case I didn't pin the length properly or she didn't stick to where I had pinned them. So I do understand your trepidation.

Karie - maybe "Phantom" refers to the white wash???

Cciele - no point posting that R for return when you're not going to, right?

Thanks for the feedback all :)

    SCORE!
They look awesome on you.  If I hadn't bought... I dunno... 5 pairs of white jeans already this year (eek!), I think I'd be trying these too!
