Forgive me Angie - I thrifted!

In my defence, my BFF wanted to go. At least I didn't initiate it - lol!

But I found a few fabulous pieces and don't feel bad about picking them up at all. Below to show you are my "finds":

- beautiful cream/red/charcoal poppy design scarf (great for taking my winter clothes into spring)

- a soft silk blend Gap voluminous tee (perfect bright colour and good to add to my casual capsule). Should also work well for partial tucking.

- Kut from the Kloth straight/bootcut jeans with the exact perfect hem and fantastic fit (again, great to add to my casual capsule)

- lovely large and simple silver Calvin Klein watch with black leather croc strap - doesn't even need a new battery!

- black and cream polka dot rubber boots - I will feel so fashionable when gardening in these!

Please don't be angry with me Angie :) I thought these were all great items, perfectly wearable, suits my style, fit perfectly and add to my casual capsule.

    And you shopped locally!
    You look fantastic Shannon!

  • Suz replied 11 years ago

Oh, Shannon ...you are too cute for words!!

I actually had an intuition this afternoon....

And hey...you know what? While you are losing weight, thrifting can be a smart sport. ;-)

  • Ariadne replied 11 years ago

Whoa. That's an insanely great thrift haul!

  • Jjsloane replied 11 years ago

I think you adhered to the appropriate rules. You made wise choices and I hope you are pleased with them (and they helped you scratch that itch :)

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Hah Suz! I guess you know me pretty well by now :)

Jeanne - oh yes, my itch has been deliciously scratched!

    Thanks merwoman and Ariadne!

    Fab finds!

  • Deborah replied 11 years ago

Really great finds. Shannon I think you can be forgiven :)

  • Rosebuddy replied 11 years ago

You did great Shannon and love how you styled your "new" outfit!

  • Raisin replied 11 years ago

    These look like great finds!

  • carolbee replied 11 years ago

A good haul, I lurvvve the scarf, if you get sick of it .....

  • Beth Ann replied 11 years ago

Let me just say....your thrift stores are not my thrift stores. Maybe thrifting is just better in Canada!

These items are great in fit and they will pull their weight in your closet and on your bod.

Love your new jeans. What a perfect fit and cut! They are awesome. You scored a great haul. I don't think you need to apologize at all!

  • sarah replied 11 years ago

Shannon, you did very well - no need for apologies! Those boots are so fun : )

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Why apologize? The scarf is gorgeous on you, the tee a great color and fit, the jeans look great, the watch and boots obviously great finds. You know I am pro-thrifting. I think Angie's main objection (hope I am not being presumptuous!) would be if you did not think about your shopping goals and principles but you did. Thrifting can easily go wrong but it can also go so very right!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 11 years ago

Shevia - oh I know Angie would not scold me - lol! I'm just apologizing because I had commented a while ago about not thrifting for a while and Angie was very supportive of me trying that. Just being accountable, that's all.

Glad you all like my "new to me" stuff. I must say, I'm really pleased with these items and know they'll integrate into my wardrobe really well.

Suz makes an excellent point about thrifting being a good method to clothing myself as I lose weight. So I guess I may as well come clean and let you all know that I started January 14th on the Lean Eating program that Suz had done. I'm not sure where this journey will take me but I've already had some very positive results. So I may be doing a bit more thrifting in the next several months until I reach my goal weight and size so that I can still have proper fitting clothes without breaking the bank. Once I reach my goal, I will then be buying some "keeper" items.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

    You are forgiven :)

Whatever makes you happy makes me happy. Great haul!

  • Sveta replied 11 years ago

Oh those polka dot boots...they alone are worth sinning...:-)

  • Sarah A replied 11 years ago

Love that cobalt blouse! And the gardening boots are really fun. Great thrifting day :)

  • Thistle replied 11 years ago

Love the scarf, and what fashionable gardening boots. I have to say, thrift stores by me most certainly do not have Kut from the Kloth jeans! Or Calvin Klein watches. They must just have better thrift stores in Canada.

  • christieanne replied 11 years ago

Your thrift stores have the best hidden gems ever inside of them! Fun accessories are so good to thrift. And the jeans are a bonus!

  • AJ replied 11 years ago

Yes, you always find some great thrifty treasures! Cobalt items are high on my shopping list now that Angie has warned us to buy color while we can. So of course your cobalt find (Silk blend no less!) is highly approved by me! Look how fab the scarf and jeans go with the tee! Great watch and fun dotty boots!

Kudos to you for starting the LE program! Go Shannon!

  • Hil replied 11 years ago

Gawd - I REALLY don't like thrift shops, and I know I should try harder because I need clothes and with my weight in flux, I don't want to be spending a fortune on clothes but I never, ever see stuff like that in our thrift shops!

  • cheryl replied 11 years ago

What a fantastic haul! I want to go thrifting with you :)

  • modgrl replied 11 years ago

Those jeans are VERY nice, you are forgiven :)

I think Shannon just has a little Small God of Thrifting along for the ride with her. The trift stores in my town are all uniformly horrible.
