WIW: Old Dress with New Purse

Well, maybe two years old isn't THAT old for a dress...I love this dress just as much now as when I bought it and wear it all year long - on its own with sandals in summer and with tights, boots and jacket in winter. It truly is a workhorse in my wardrobe.

To play up the lighter tones in the dress, I've paired it with my neutral peep toe booties and the new Elliot Lucca handbag. I like the booties with the dress, but not sure the handbag works with it - what do you think? I've also been missing some of my vintage jewelry so pulled out my pearls to wear. I like them with this dress and neckline.

Also showing you the new soft purple lipstick I just bought for fall from The Body Shop. I'm in LOVE with this colour!

So does this outfit work? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

Dress: Attitude by Jay Manuel
Shoes: Boutique 9
Handbag: Elliot Lucca
Pearls: vintage

This is a stunning dress on you Shannon. And I really like the pattern mix with the bag:). And I so love seeing pearls come out to play. That is a great shade of lipstick!

Great dress, I really love seeing your outfits in the morning!

I love the dress with that bag. It is a coordinated mismatch. The only thing is that perhaps you don't need the belt, but the dress might be one of those that come with a belt, soooo it is really a minor point.
Awesome outfit overall and the lipstick color is so pretty!

You look lovely in your dress and pearls, Shannon.
I'm not crazy about the bag with it, although I do love that bag. But I'm not a big pattern-mixer, in general, so take that with a grain of salt.
Your new lipstick is so pretty! It doesn't look purple, though. Funny how lipsticks change when worn.

You look so pretty! You're getting really good at taking your own pictures, and the shot in #2 looks so cute and candid. Love the dress and you're making me brave to wear my pearls. I don't know why I'm so chicken about them. I love that bag; it can do no wrong IMO and your lippy is a really pretty mauve. The consistency looks really nice too. Have a lovely Tuesday!

Bring out those pearls and wear them Claire! Unfortunately my hubby absolutely HATES pearls - calls them "old lady" and says they remind him of Barbara Bush (lol)! But I truly think it's all what you pair them with and how you wear them. I think they're classic and intend to always have a pair in my jewelry box.

Zap - you know, I never thought about trying the dress without a belt. It did come with a skinny black belt so have just always worn it with a belt (not always the black skinny one mind you). Might have to give that a try - thanks!

    Thanks ladies!

As a non pattern-mixer, I love everything about this outfit except the presence of the bag. I don't like its yellowish tones with the blue-purple of the dress. The lipstick looks fantastic though.

I remember this dress. No wonder it's a workhorse for you. It's just lovely. Those boutique 9s are getting their wear, too! Love the new lipstick as well.

I'm loving it!! The retro touch with the pearls and the pattern mixing bring this dress to life!

    An 11 out of 10.

You look fabulous in your dress and pearls, Shannon-- not even remotely resembling Barbara's look.

I love your "old" dress with the bag and nude shoes. Your lipstick is so pretty and, like Parsley, I'm not "seeing" purple, but more of a deep rose or plum.

I lOVE pearls! Your outfit looks fab and I really like your new lipstick!
