WIW: Midi & Birks

Today's outfit started with my VC marble patterned midi tube skirt (waving to skirt twin Elizabeth!). I paired the skirt with my black lace drapey tee and then topped that with my light blue linen-blend boxy cropped jacket. I scrunched the sleeves for some added structure. For footwear, I chose my black/white polka dot Birks. I can't believe I'm wearing a midi with flats (essentially) - a shortie like me. See what you can teach us Angie? :)

For accessories, I went with my cobalt/cream/black handbag, red specs and a gold/turquoise cuff. Looks like I'm ready for the day!

I realize this is quite casual for the workplace, but trust me…this will be fine in my office. This outfit will also work for weekend get togethers with the BFF for coffee, shopping with hubby, etc.

So what do you think? Does it all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

    Another winner, the blues of the bag and jacket are a nice touch. Those skirts are a real treasure with the option of being dressed up or down. The casual workplace is giving you the opportunity for double duty clothing, isn't it?

    What Sveta said. I think your pretty ankles make almost any shoe -- even my poison eye Birks -- look fantastic. Ditto the marble skirt. I love it.

    Shannon I am absolutely loving the new turn your style has taken (not that I didn't love your style before)! This is fantastic and it so wonderful you can dress like this for work.

    I think the outfit is great except for the shoes, but I have a poison eye for birks. :)  The flats look good though, no reason for heels with this outfit.

    Honestly, I agree with lyn, how do you do it? This looks so put together and relaxed at the same time. It is incredible.

    pil - it has been a bit tough to get my head around it, but now that I've figured out the dressing norm for the new job, I am absolutely LOVING the fact that my wardrobe doesn't need to be two completely distinct and separate capsules. This not only extends my wardrobe budget, but makes choosing items more fun in figuring out how it can work for the office and home.

    Shevia - I'm enjoying this shift in style myself. It's a combination of something innate where I just starting drifting in this direction but also deliberate choice. I think it's finally starting to come together and yet still feels very much like ME.

    Sara - I know there are other Fabbers with Birks poison eyes who will join you :)

    Great look, love the top peeking out beneath the jacket...everything perfectly proportioned, even like the Birkies and like Suz, I have a bit of poison eye for them, lol.

    Shannon ... You rock those birkies! You make me wish I had them. Now that would make sense if I liked them ..
    But apparently I have a poison eye for them! WTH!

    Beautiful choice of top for the midi skirt. That blue is gorgeous on you (similar to the blue EF top)

    Another fantastic outfit - I just love that marble pattern on the skirt. I haven't been a fan of Birks, but am slowly being converted to one - these look great with your outfit.
