WIW: Last Day Linen

Today's my last day off work and I'm heading out to meet my BFF for lunch on a patio. And it is stinking hot and humid!

I thrifted this white Irish linen dress several months ago and always knew I was going to hack it into a tunic. It had a horrendous flounce on the bottom but had a double stitched hem at the perfect tunic top length. Grabbed my scissors this morning and voila - a lovely breezy linen top for the heat.

Paired it with my dark wash denim shorts, Birks, Coach bag, silver jewelry and Wayfarer sunnies.

Be back later...

Nice save!  What a lovely summery top.  Your yard looks very inviting.  I have those purple flowers too!

Excellent "Hack" - pun intended.  Love gauzy linen tops like this - perfect for today's weather. Have a lovely patio lunch, and a glass of wine on me!

I love it! What a great idea to alter the dress that way. You have quite an eye.

I love the entire ensemble but it is outshined by that smile.  Enjoy your last day of freedom Shannon.

You look relaxed and happy, even if it's hot outside.  Love the tunic!  Fresh and cool!

Perfect for a hot day. Your vision to see the possibilities in a horrendous flounced dress is impressive.

You are so clever to turn this into a tunic!  I love long tunics with knee shorts for a breezy but covered summer time look.  I don't see this kind of top silhouette on you very often Shannon, it's flattering.
