WIW: Grey drape for warm fall day (ETA pumps in Finds)

The weather is absolutely beautiful this week - temperatures in the high 20's (Celcius). It's lovely to extend the wearing of warm weather clothing because once the cold truly hits, we'll be in woolies for 6 months :(

Today I started my outfit with this grey dolman sleeve wedge drape blouse. I wore this on the weekend semi tucked with rolled BF jeans and it works equally well for a work outfit. I've paired the blouse with the black pencil skirt from my skirt suit and my black pointy toe kitten heels. These kitten heels have been worn a ton since their purchase and I realize just how versatile a simple pair of pumps are for me - with the lower heel height of course. I wear them with everything from dresses to rolled BF jeans.

I finished off the outfit with my 50th birthday silver pendant, silver watch and wedding band, black/white specs and my bright citron clutch.

What do you think? Does this all work together? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.

I'm sick as a dog with a sinus infection (can't even put on mascara 'cause my face hurts so much) and work is still crazy busy so no possibility of staying home and trying to get some rest. Oh well...

So chic! Shoes are so very precious. Love their height too, looks like you can actually spend a day in them. What brand are they, may I ask? You look lovely.

Gorgeous top! Perfect drape and color, and a great transition piece. I really like the simplicity of this outfit.

  • Jaime replied 9 years ago

The top is fantastic and the heels make every outfit you wear with them.

  • missvee replied 9 years ago

I think this is a great silhouette on you.

Hope you feel better! I love the ease and simplicity here, and the citron clutch really adds a fun touch.

Hope you'll get well soon, Shannon! Love the ease of this outfit, just you were after in such hard times, you have now. YLF without mascara, too:-))

Chic and lovely.  The silhouette is perfect and the pendant adds just the right touch.  I hope you feel better, soon!

The simplicity of your outfit is dramatic. The citron bag is just the right touch of unpredictable color. Love those kitten heels. I hope that you are feeling better.

I love the simplicity of this outfit & esp paired with the citron bag :)
Hope you feel better soon. No fun at all.

Krish - gosh I usually put the brands at the bottom of my post and completely forgot this morning! The shoes are Calvin Klein and honestly are so comfy it's ridiculous. I have feet that border on wide and bunions and yet the pointy toes on these shoes work just fine. I've added the shoes to Finds in my original post.

Thanks for the lovely comments ladies - I'm enjoying the simplicity of this outfit today. It's exactly what I needed for a day when I'm feeling under the weather.

Shannon - sorry you're suffering a sinus infection, those are the worst.  Isn't this the best treat for our weather?  Love that grey top - and with the citron purse!  Perfect colour combo for this time of year. I have those same CK pumps - in suede and in leather. And I am wearing mine a ton right now too.  Every day in fact! Sort of the perfect bridge shoe between summer and winter.

Great look!  I love the blouse and necklace together.  The simplicity of the grey color but the interesting dolman sleeves are perfect together.

    Nicely done. Simple & effective.

Really pretty outfit - simple, chic, very pulled together!

  • rabbit replied 9 years ago

Sorry you feel rough.   I love the simplicity of this, the shapes, and the citron/gray combo.

I just got over the worst sinus/cold/flu...whatever it was and it was miserable.  Hope you feel better soon.  What I noticed right off about this outfit was how much the vertical line of the necklace added to it.  I don't think it would be near as fab without it.  It's the smallest details sometimes.  I also love that shade of gray on you.

Gah!  This is fab simplicity at its best!  So sorry you're feeling under the weather, though!

  • catgirl replied 9 years ago

This is my kind of summer outfit!  Good to see you - I know you've been busy!

  • Suz replied 9 years ago

Shannon, hope you feel better soon! You look terrific. Effortlessly chic. This is one of my favourite silhouettes.

  • Caro in Oz replied 9 years ago

Simple  & fab. Hope you are feeling better soon.

  • krishnidoux replied 9 years ago

Shannon, did you buy them in Canada? I will be looking for those. I have the same feet problem as you - fighting a bunion and dealing with a rigidus hallux. I am so glad to hear that I could be wearing pumps with a small heel again!

  • Dana replied 9 years ago

    Love the outfit!

  • Elizabeth P replied 9 years ago

Once again, nailed the proportions.  Beautiful simple outfit Shannon!

  • Transcona Shannon replied 9 years ago

Krish - yes, I bought them at The Bay. And they are on The Bay's website as we speak. I'm already thinking of buying a duplicate pair since I wear these so often and the heels are getting pretty beat up looking. Definitely worth trying for you.

I echo , again, the shoe love here - for Kris's benefit. As I mentioned earlier, I have two pairs now of this pump - the spotted ones I often wear, and a black suede pair. I too have a bit of a foot issue and no longer am able to wear pointed toe pumps -except for these babies.  I wear them barefoot all day long, without exaggeration.  The Ivanka Trump brand also has the identical pump, which I have in black leather. Same excellent fit and feel. All from Hudson  Bay - new name :)

  • Aida replied 9 years ago

Totally love you in this Shannon! Great drape, great volume, and great proportions (with the perfect amount of exposed skin). I hope you're feeling better!

  • Lyn D. replied 9 years ago

Sorry you are feeling unwell Shannon, but you are looking tip-top as usual!

  • Thistle replied 9 years ago

You look terrif! Those pumps are truly a workhorse for you. Worth every penny! Definitely an item to consider putting a chunk of budget to when they need refreshing.

Sorry you are feeling so poorly. I hope you feel better soon.

  • fuzzylogic replied 9 years ago

I agree with others here- the proportions are great!!!  Hope you are feeling well again soon!

  • Elly replied 9 years ago

I love this look on you and am very glad you are enjoying the warm weather-- I am loving it in CO too and am not ready for cold. Excellent proportions, fluid shapes with the structure of the pencil and pumps. Love the pendant with it, and I must say, you have nice legs!
