Another cold day here in The 'Peg so wanted to wrap myself up in my green cashmere sweater. I've paired the sweater with my tweed front slouchy trousers. I've added for a belt a newly thrifted black/white houndstooth slim leather belt and then decided to further play up the black and white by adding my Doc Sara oxfords (MaryK is so right - you just smile when you put these babies on!) and my black/white leather handbag.
I'm comfortable, cozy and feel put together - how does it look to your eyes? As always, all comments/suggestions welcome.
Sweater: Lord & Taylor
Trousers: Sears
Belt: thrifted
Shoes: Doc Martens
Handbag: Danier Leather (thrifted)

replied 11 years agoThat sweater was such a find for the late winter to early spring doldrums! I think this looks great, and the shoes are so fun.

Jjsloane replied 11 years agoWhat a great color sweater on you. I think this is a great look - the belt really anchors the slouchiness of the rest and the bag with the shoes ! Wow

Ornella replied 11 years agoOh, how fab! That green is lovely and the pants are divine on you.
You are amazing, btw (((hugs))). -

Jaime replied 11 years agoI would say this is my favorite sweater and trousers on you but I am pretty sure there are others I love just as much (which is a lot). You look great!

Day Vies replied 11 years agoI love this shade of green with gray and white. The black provides a little bit of structure. Very nice.

texstyle replied 11 years agoYou look great Shannon and I'm not even a big fan of slouchy trousers but these look both comfortable and flattering on you. Love the houndstooth belt and the shoes/bag combo with this.

Transcona Shannon replied 11 years agoI keep hoping another of these sweaters in my size and a pretty colour will pop up on The Bay's website but they've now reached the clearance section - if they do though, I'm definitely going to pounce.
These trousers got me perusing Sears more often as well so I am finding more local stores with possibilities.
Thanks for your comments ladies! -
Tanya replied 11 years agoYou look sensational in this shad of green Shannon! Love the outfit, especially how the accessories tie it all together. I hope another color shows up at the store.

Hope you're feeling calmer. You look it :)

catgirl replied 11 years agoReally love this! I wore a similar silhouette yesterday, slouchy leather pants and citron sweater with booties. Comfortable and comforting on yet another cold winter day. :)

Sara L. replied 11 years agoI love the color of the green sweater. It looks great on you! I really like the how the light belt and shoes work with the darker pants.

replied 11 years agoOoo, cashmere. How lovely to be able to wear something so warm that also looks beautiful. Can we have a close-up of the belt sometime? It sounds like a fun new addition while you're waiting for spring to come. YLF!

MsMary replied 11 years agoI'm smiling right along with you, Shannon! YLF!

-
Tina.b replied 11 years agoBoth the trousers and the sweater have a great shape and they pair together beautifully. I must try something like this myself. And the black and white accents are just the perfect finishing touch!
-
Beth Ann replied 11 years agoLoving the choice of spring color with winter fabrication and a weighty, but bright shoe.

CocoLion replied 11 years agoPerfect combination of colors and shapes here! One of my favorites of yours. I love this happy green color. The sweater, with its sweatshirt style, is modern as are the slouchy pants and oxfords.
A subjective observation: the bag, while the colors go great with the belt and shoes, feels a little ladylike for this outfit. What about a clutch or crossbody or Hobo or backpack? I hope you don't hate me for expressing a critical opinion. :-) -
Aida replied 11 years agoCheerful and happy for a cold day!
-
Transcona Shannon replied 11 years agoDenise - hate you???? Good grief no, you silly woman. I appreciate your observations and now I'm thinking next time I wear this combination I'll try it with either my slouchy lamb leather Christopher Kon bag or maybe my grey snakeskin clutch?
Angie - "urban minimalism"...interesting. I need to ponder that a bit.
Una - "comfortable and comforting" - exactly!
Thanks everyone for your feedback and comments - always appreciated :)

I started playing dress up when I was 4 years old and haven't stopped since! My income doesn't match my tastes so it's all about figuring out how to thrift my way to a fashionable life while tossing in a few delectable items.
