Pastel Suit Reveal

I mentioned last week about ordering a pastel blue Anne Klein suit (new, from eBay) as an inexpensive way to try the pastel trend. Angie has mentioned before that she felt light blue might work for me and it's a colour I've been curious about. I don't remember ever owning anything pastel.

The suit arrived today and I popped it on with my foxy tee and a pair of heels without any specific styling. It's got some wrinkles/folds in it from the packaging and shipping so please try and look past that. 

The colour is a lovely light blue although photographs a tiny bit more lilac due to my wall colour. The fabric is lovely and substantial. The pieces would work well together as a proper suit and as separates with other items - i.e. the blazer with white jeans, pencil skirts, etc and the trousers with my laser cut hole white sweater, white leather jacket, etc.

I love the colour. I love the fit. The jacket looks slightly big from the back when undone but I don't mind that look at all - more BF style. 

Unless anyone sees anything glaringly wrong - and please speak up if you do - this is a keep for me. I will also try some proper stylings on the weekend when I have time if that helps.

    Nice!! I love the little bit of edge the tee adds, keeps it from looking too sweet. Very pretty color for sure!

    I could knit pick about the fit - but it's more than good enough at the price point. This is not a Theory or Hugo Boss suit. Enjoy. xo

    Dude.  How on earth did you manage to purchase a whole suit on Ebay and have both pieces fit?!  I can't get over the pants, but the whole thing looks cool and fresh on you.  I can't wait to see how you style it.

    Angie - fair enough. And you're right - when trying a trend that I may not stick with for any length of time so not spending big bucks, "more than good enough" is just that.

    You might be able to tweak the fit a bit, Shannon, if it's really a love item. And styled, it will look better too. I think it's definitely good. And 110% fun. 

    If you have time on the weekend, let me know the details, but don't stress about it. My other potential option is Zara. I feel sure they will come out with something like this in the spring and their jackets always fit me.

    I think that this is a great way to try out the trend! The only thing I noticed was that the jacket seemed to be a bit big in the back, which you said wasn't a dealbreaker for you. Everything else gets two thumbs up! The fit really does appear to be pretty good :^).

    I think it looks great! So summery. Great with white and nudes, but you know I think it will work well mixed with black and navy, too, and give you totally different vibes.

    Well colour me surprised! Shannon you may recall I was open to the idea but felt I really needed to see the suit on... well it looks so good! For me it's the fit of this that hits it out of the ball park. Love it on you. So so fab!

    I am so jealous right now. I can never, never ever, never ever ever, find a suit that fits me that well. You've hit the Ebay jackpot with this outfit! The pants, especially from the back view, look like they fit you perfectly. Maybe the jacket could use a little tweaking in the back, but it's certainly not a deal breaker. Great fit, gorgeous color! Keep!

    I love the color and the cut! It reminds me of my seersucker jacket from a distance. I also like the fact you can flip back the cuffs. I have always appreciated that in jackets that happened to not be available in a petite cut because then the sleeves didn't make me look like I was wearing my big sister's jacket. I hope you keep and enjoy it.

    I absolutely love this -- as a suit and on you! So gorgeous!!! Love it. And love how happy it makes you.

    Several years ago ... maybe 10? ... I bought, on impulse, a pale blue suit from the Loft. It was also amazing; traditional trim cut but a kind of killer, unexpected color. I miss that damn suit right now.
